DEVONthink To Go 3

Een meer dan prachtige app. Je kan er enorm veel mee doen. Sync ook enorm goed met Devonthink op mijn Mac’s

The application has stopped to work on iPad and as an user of version 2 there is no option to upgrade the application is still working to iPhone with no option to upgrade to upgrade to version 3 before septembre…. update: Problem has been solved and the team has been quick to solve the issue

I am greatly enjoying the app for studyng textbooks (i.e. reading, doing exercises, taking notes). There is one problem that kills my multitasking: when I switch between aps, devonthink disables my current brush input and I have to re-enable it. I have to do it every time I need to look something up in the browser. I can imagine this is a frequent scenario for anybody using devonthink with textbooks. Your app is golden, please change the workflow or explain why is it not plausible ;)

Ich benutze die Devonthink Apps täglich auf dem Mac, dem iPhone und dem iPad. Es benötigt eine gewisse Zeit, sich in den enormen Leistungsumfang der App einzuarbeiten. Hat man sich einen persönlichen Workflow erarbeitet, wird diese App zu einem wichtigen, regelmäßigen Begleiter zur Bearbeitung der täglichen Informations- und Datenfluten. Sie ist für mich daher seit Jahren fast unersetzlich.

I do not have the tool bar on the burn of the screen, where e.g. cloud sync is configured. I can see a part of the cloud icon, but i can't touch it. So cloud sync configuration is impossible. All the other buttons aren't even visible. So adding content also isn't possible. So at the moment, with an iPhone 15 Pro, the app is pretty useless.

it's hard to change your digital lihe again and again to find the new better home, but i decided to give it a shot with devonthink. my main criteria is voiceover support - and i am happy this works well. syncing with the cloud works too but it's not exactly out of the box - that takes care of backups. mostly i love that it supports a lot of file and media types that it lets me save a link or web archive or a password protected zip. it integrates with files app and allows dynamic filtering with tags and so much more. it's better than onenote or other apps that just focus one one or two mime types

Wenn ich nur eine App installieren dürfte, wäre es ohne Frage DEVONthink (-Server auf Macs & DTTG auf iOS-Geräten). Die zweite App wäre Obsidian. Mehr brauche ich nicht wirklich zusätzlich.

Auch im zweiten Anlauf nach einem Jahr Abstand will es mir nicht gelingen, eine funktionierende Synchronisation mit der Desktop App herzustellen. Vielleicht sollte ich noch mal den Resetknopf drücken und bei null anfangen, aber das ist alles so mühsam und ich habe keinen Mumm mehr. Synchronisation über iCloud (CloudKit) meldet mir trotz mehrfacher Initialisierung üben wie drüben einen Fehler: ungültiger Schlüssel. Nun synchronisiere ich wieder über iCloud Drive und kann auf DevonThink to go verzichten.

Leider ist nach dem letzten Update ein Problem aufgetreten im Zusammenhang mit der Webdav-Verbindung. Wenn der Server, auf den man mit Webdav zugreifen will, über das WLAN erreichbar ist, dann ist alles ok. Wenn man aber mit dem iPad/iPhone unterwegs ist, dann erscheint ständig (ca. alle 10-20s) die Nachricht, dass der Server über Webdav nicht erreichbar ist. Ich hoffe auf baldige Hilfe.

… mehr gibt es dazu nicht zu sagen. Ich verwende DevonThink jetzt seit ca. 5 Jahren und weder die App noch der Support (war zweimal bei Synchronisierungsproblemen nötig) haben mich je im Stich gelassen. Ein mächtigeres und zuverlässigeres Werkzeug zur Verwaltung und Bearbeitung der eigenen Daten gibt es nicht.
