dict.cc+ Dictionary

This app has never disappointed me. I am a German native and fluent in English but every now and then I need help with a specific word or saying. Dict.cc has an extensive range of vocabulary and idioms, all with pronunciations as well. It has never crashed and delivers results fast. Thank you!

On first acquaintance this is everything a dictionary app for iPad should be. So far I've not managed to fault this at all - and consider the price to be absolutely minimal if it means freedom from advertisements and ability to use it off-line. Paul is to be congratulated on a superb achievement. However, it took several attempts to upload the whole vocabulary to my new iPad Pro and I agree that noun plurals should be there. I haven't managed so far to use it in split-screen mode with anything from iBooks or Kindle: now that would be a real time-saver! Perhaps soon?

I have found the app really useful in German classes. When I come across new words that I think I should know I add them to my vocabulary list and use the vocabulary trainer feature when I get time. For me the only significant issue is that the vocabulary trainer doesn’t show the gender of nouns in the solution. Another minor issue is that translation lists can be slow to scroll, but generally I don’t need to scroll.

I would expect a greater vocabulary for this price!!

This is an outstandingly good app and the service from the creator is second to none in my experience.

Serious omission: no plural forms next to entry word, so if you look up German Mann, this dictionary does not tell you that the plural is Männer. Such an omission would be shocking in even a small dictionary.

Ability to sync account on website to app

I've heard this app is great so I paid £2.49 for it. It won't even download from the App Store. What's going on?!!

Brilliant and massively comprehensive dictionary, simple interface, ability to download and test yourself on vocab - I've never reviewed an app before but this has been enormously useful and I highly recommend it.
