It would be all right if it worked, but there is something wrong with the app will not let me in and will not let me download it on my phone when it says start push it to start and it does nothing far as I’m concerned the thermometer and this app is useless
This app and device function perfectly! I make great food with it. The PROBLEM is the alert you get from your phone is insanely LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, and DISTURBING!!!!! It immediately sparks anxiety as you fumble around as fast as you can to turn it off. It’s so disruptive and terrible I cannot use it after hours when I am cooking late. They REALLY need to A: give us the ability to lower the volume of the rapid panicked like beeping. B: give us a few different notifications sounds we can choose from. That is not a hard thing to do, and it really speaks to how much they did not consider the customer when making this app. They get 1 star until they fix it. And since they probably don’t care enough to fix it, I won’t need to come back and change it to 5.
The thermometer is great, and the app is pretty slick as well - easy to use and pair with the thermometer. But big issues keep this from being all that useful: 1) You can’t plot the temperature data from different probes in the same graph, making comparisons between probes difficult. Each plot uses its own automatically adjusted scale as well. 2) Every time you reopen the app the data logs reset. You can’t export the data in any way. The alarm features are cool, but having better tracking and access to data would really make this app shine.
I like the app; it’s really easy to use and pretty customizable. But when I’m walking around my house, I don’t need to be warned every 30 seconds just because I’m walking in and out of the disconnection range. Same goes when I’m sitting in my living room. One warning per disconnect every 10 minutes is plenty adequate. This alone makes me consider returning the thermometer. I also love that it supports up to 6 probes, but there’s so much wasted space on each of the individual temperature displays in the app, so I can’t see them all without scrolling up and down. That’s frustrating to me. Add an option that lets me change the display to put two read outs side by side, 2 columns x 3 rows, so I can view all 6 temperatures at once. Temperature graphing is utterly useless as well. It starts over when you go to the graph, so there’s no good way to see what it’s been at for say the last half hour, unless you keep that screen open. And even then, you can only see graphs for one probe at a time. Just make it so all of the probes can be shown at once, and make the lines the respective colors of each probe, and keep the app recording the temperatures over time in the background, since its constantly connected anyway. Problem solved. There’s a good base here, but it needs continued improvement to be where it should be.
The scale of the graph is terrible if you’re using it for a oven/baking thermometer
I had the Weber app before this until one of my probes burnt out. Replacement cost for one prob was almost the cost of this new probe system. So the Weber app had one advantage in that it stored temperatures graph for a longer time period allowing you to see the total cook temp over time. But I can live without it. This app is great. Set your own temperature alarms, temperature ranges, assign temperature profiles to whatever probe you want. Connection range is really good also. I’m about 30 feet from my grill and through two walls and still getting great reception. Highly recommended. Only wish list is that they made an Apple Watch version and that it could record temp graphs for longer periods of time.
