Looks great and is so simple to use!
As a landlord it’s great to be able to keep track of how often my tenants are using the heating panels from the comfort of my own home. Also the thermostat shown on app allows me to see how warm on average a room is or if they are using external heating. BUT and a MASSIVE BUT!, I just wished that I am able to control the panels on the APP when it’s “locked” on the actual heating panel. As having the radiator “locked” to the tenants also “locks” the access for landlord on the app - and I would need to physically go to the property and enable with a code. Which I find very confusing and it defeats the whole purpose of a Dimplex control app. I encourage the software engineers to look into this and allow access to the heating panels even if they’re locked. This would allow greater flexibility to be able to manage heating preferences/settings on the Dimplex control app, whilst locked to the tenants. If you see this message Dimplex, please acknowledge my message. If this can be done, I will change my review from a 3 star to a 5 star. It’s the only feature that prevents it from being good to GREAT. I would consider this model across my portfolio and recommend to other landlords in my connection.
Really poor app performance. Have managed to get the different heaters in different rooms set to different profiles throughout the day - but the connection is lost more than 50% of the time - meaning you can’t change the temperatures or the profiles as and when you’d like. I’d expect this performance from an app 10-15 years ago but in 2024 it is poor. Look forward to spring when I can just switch all the heaters off.
My husband and I consider ourselves to be relatively IT savvy. But this app is driving us mostly me, mad! We have 20 heaters in out hall and at the moment I would rather go back to using an old fashions timer! It takes a long time to connect which i have learnt to deal with but learning how the app works is a nightmare and i still scant say with certainty that heating is going to come on for hirers!
Whoever wrote this app needs a course on how to design a decent UI. Schedules are complicated to set up and alter. Everything is just as bad as can be. I hope they get a decent designer to take this over and make it usable.
Surprised and very disappointed that the Dimplex Control app is inaccessible for blind customers who use Apple’s built-in screen reader, VoiceOver. Buttons, picker boxes and other elements are invisible to the screen reader, unlabelled or badly labelled. Rendering the app unusable. I’ve had to postpone and will probably cancel the installation of the QHHR system in my home after a live session in a neighbouring house. My home is not suitable for gas central heating which links with the excellent accessible Hive app. So, sticking with my existing dilapidated storage heaters for now. It would be relatively simple to fix these accessibility bugs In the Dimplex Control app. I’d love to come back and give a 5-star review! :-] As not sure if posting htm links are permitted, may I encourage the developers to search for these websites. developer,apple.com,accessibility creating-accessible-ios-apps-an-action-plan
This is a very capable app and much easier to use than having to program the control panel on the heaters themselves. The remote access of being able to change schedules outside of the home is also very useful. However I do wish the ability to change schedules wasn’t quite so buried: select the room > select the heater > select the profile > change the schedule. In addition, I really, really hope Dimplex adopts the Matter standard or opens to some third party options as it would be so much better and easier if these programs could work as part of an automation with other smart devices, really beginning to shave off energy usage by detecting presence and schedules. This desperately needs to be integrated with platforms such as HomeKit or Home Assistant. Please make it happen Dimplex.
When you click on energy usage on an individual heater it repeatedly comes back with no data. Useless for monitoring energy consumption.
Downloaded and can’t get it to work. No QR codes on radiator or “hub”. Help section is useless.
Just set up for our holiday rental. Obviously our heaters are locked so guests can’t fiddle with settings and just found out this means we can’t use remote access as you can’t unlock with the app. Will now hopefully be able to return our hub for a full refund as it is now totally useless to us.
