Dipsea – Spicy Audiobooks

Very well done. Lots of variety. Takes a long time for new content to appear.

Love the app. But you charge a lot of money. And never update or Have new stories. I won’t be re subscribing for this reason

Audio quality is amazing! This has been a wonderful replacement to dating while my life is so busy. My only quibble is that sometimes the spicy scenes are kinda unrealistic/so idealized that it takes me out of it.

I know you sapphics in particular are wondering if there’s enough content for us behind the app’s steep paywall to justify the price. No. There isn’t. And what’s there is mostly deeply unrelatable (though dreadfully and dully rooted in reality) middle class business gay fantasies. If you’re only looking for WLW, there’s way less than 7 days worth of content. They pay a lot of lip service to their listeners having highly individualized tastes, but you’re going to find a lot of the same repetitive themes. Everything is overly intense, nausea inducing soulmate content. If you’re looking for Romantasy, expect the most normie, humanoids but with powers characters. I can hook up with a handsome and strangely charming person with an affinity for biting in real life. What I can’t do is succumb to the seductive influence of a swamp creature that controls death itself. If you’re bi or straight, and the full extent of your fantasies are “when I was a teen reading twilight, I wish it was slightly less mormon” then you might be happy for ~7 days.

Unfortunately, this app does not allow you to listen for free. You have to buy a subscription to listen to ANYTHING on this app.

Literally unusable if you don't sign up for the 7 day free trial. Also forces you to make an account linked to your email which seems unnecessary.

I heard about the app on a podcast advertisement that really focused on the “spicy” audio stories. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of stories available on the app, and was also very pleased that the app served more than one purpose. There are also different types of sleep audio, as well as a category that focuses more on sexual wellness, exploration, and some education. Very well done app, and definitely worth the subscription price as of now!

There doesn’t seem to be a lot of new content particularly when compared to competitors.

This app is primarily for a white audience. Don't get me wrong, there are diverse characters and I really liked the idea and I’m glad the app exists but this did bug me… In the tag lines they will always tell you if there’s a black voice or an asian voice but the white voices are known by country of origin like Irish voices or British voices never ‘white voices’ which sounds silly right? Also in woman/man stories when you go to look up more stories with the same actor, its only the male voice actors work that comes up…. Lastly they charged me for a year subscription without any warning. I took the L on that but damn I wish that hadn’t had happened because it made me feel less excited about using the app again
