DMV Test Buddy

This app is being advertised on the California DMV website as an app to “help us research how technology can improve the drivers license testing process.” Once you login, this app asks for your location and health to be monitored in app, and there is no “drivers license testing process” whatsoever.

This was pitched as a guide to help study for DMV test but it's not that at all. It's just a driving tracking app. I don't mind the tracking but I'm looking for something to help me pass the test and this is not it, so don't waste your time if that's what you're looking for. Note for DMV developers/UX: don't pitch this as a study guide. Be upfront and honest on the website about what it is and people won't be so angry. It feels like a bait and switch.

Absolutely zero utility to user… just another wasteful government monitoring scheme.

Doesn’t work at all

This is definitely pushed on the DMV website as an app to help you study. It’s more like an app that tracks you wherever you go. No thanks.

The DMV website pitched this app as some type of test prep app. As soon as you open the app, it wants to access your location, fitness, etc. go ahead if you trust the DMV. That’s a delete for me.

unable to log in

It asks for too much personal info and maybe that is why it didn’t track or give me feedback on my driving. Not a good app don’t waste your time downloading it.

It does not work. I expected it to show how my driving is now, but it asked many detailed information about me and showed nothing. The miles I drove is 0 miles or ‘-‘ miles so far. Useless and I even cannot find how to unsubscribe and get my information back from them.
