Drambo

This application combines a modular approach to setting up your own groovebox, sequencer, arpeggiator or FX tracks, all at once. You can use its internal synth engine modules, external AUv3 instruments, audio or midi effects, but also connect to external MIDI gear. It runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac with ARM processor. I’m still discovering how deep you can go, but already create generative and ever evolving compositions. It’s based on patterns, but you can play with amount of steps, speed, routing for polyphonic, probabilistic and polyrhythmic sequences.

This is something really special. People who own Elektron boxes will feel at home right away. Go from basic to very advanced, process or sample external audio, sequence external hardware, build a synth, Drambo has it all. This has become my main audio app for basically everything.

I always believed there was a great potential for electronic music production with Ipad. Now that potential can be realized thanks to Drambo. Greatest music app on this platform !

Having a high end studio makes it hard for me to consider mobile music making serious because I always end up feeling like i work on useless things. But this app is like having an Akai Force with much more power. Like having VCV rack build in an Elektron Rhythm . Just incredible inspiring and powerful. Far out the most advanced music tool on iPad. Combine it with NanoStudio 2 and u can leave ur MacBooks at home

It is still hard for me to believe my eyes, using Drambo for the first time feels like discovering a secret passage to Narnia, a new world full of mysteries and wonders await. Sheer creative power and even better UI/UX design is what you get with Drambo. 11/10 would patch again (and again, and again, ...)

App keeps crashing?

I’ve tried many iPad music apps over the years, and it’s always been enjoyable, but I’ve always felt quite constrained, and iPad has for the most part been a toy, for me. Drambo changes all of that. It’s hard to explain exactly what this app does to a newbie, and in fact it’s almost easier to list what it doesn’t do, which is audio tracks. Apart from that it does basically everything else you could want and can fit into the workflow of basically anyone. You can use this app as a standalone modular grove box, that can host auv3s. It’s similar to Bitwig or Reaktor stapled to a Digitact, but it really doesn’t stop there. You can also use Drambo itself as an AUV3 inside of other hosts such as AUM, or Logic Pro and that’s where it gets crazy. It can be a modular synth complete with wavetables and tons of other toys. It can be a a robust full featured sampler. It can be a midi sequencer with clip launching and song mode, which is a game changer for aum. It can be a midi CC modulator, with LFOs and MSEGs, which is also a game changer for aum. It can be a multi effect processor with reverbs, delays, compressor, ect. Even if you only want it for one of those use cases, it’s worth the money, and if your at all like me it will soon work its way into every project, and become your go to for just about everything. If you can only get one app for electronic music making this is the one. I would gladly pay triple what this costs.

This app is amazing. It's like ableton, a modular and an elektron device in one. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. I own some pretty expensive hardware and haven't used it since I started using drambo ( except for the times I sampled my synth with drambo). Considering selling a couple elektron boxes or a mpc live 2 now to fund an iPad pro.

An iPad would be a worthwhile purchase just for Drambo, with its deep ability to design sounds and build complete tracks. Easily the best bang for your buck music software on the market on any platform.

The level of robustness and polish here is rarely seen in the mobile music world.
