easyAsPieDB Database

I had paid, via the Apple App Store £12.99 to use this app on my iMac. It used my iCloud services to sync the data between my devices. It’s was really useful for my work. But now I find that I can’t use the iMac app whatsoever because of the need of subscription charges. This renders my paid app useless because I can’t edit any entries without paying subscription charges first. I would have expected that any app that was bought via the Apple App Store at cost would give the user the right to use the app and not have to pay more money to use it. 😥

**Edit** I read this app as it was ‘completely free’ went to add a picture to one of the records and was told the 45 day trial has ended? And my database is now locked unless I pay 4.99? And to think I left a genuine review below and recommended you to others. Cheers for that. You have not produced a completely free app as you advertised. It doesn’t say your database will be locked after 45 days but hints it’s optional... 🤨 I was looking for a database app that can hold pictures so I can database my coin collection. This app is easy to use and I was able to create a handy tool I can use on the move that stores the info of the coins I have in my collection and best of stores photos of the coins. I have 500+ to edit in and I’m around halfway so far but I’m amazed that after adding photos of nearly 300 coins my app is less than 400mb! I thought it would be lots more! Definitely a good app to use for a database. My only gripes is when you want to see the photo in more detail than the small image you have to press edit then select the picture to view it large but that’s not a big deal really. Just would be better if you could add multiple photos in one record and/or select the photo to view in full screen properly. Other than that it’s a great tool I’ve already recommended a few times to other coin collectors 👍

I've created a structure of containers 5 levels deep. In the last level I've created a file that contained some items. There is Jo way to search for an item from the top level, you have to be in the file. If you don't know which file contains the item you're trying to locate, you're stuffed. Tried contact support, entered my email, but when entering the message and clocking Done, nothing happens. Closing the message deletes it. Very poor design. Deleted. 2 stars for potential.

A good database well worth viewing and has potential, and still trying all the features so difficult to provide a full review at present. However since the last update a few days ago the App Crashes immediately after loading, a sign that the developers have NOT tested their work before release to the App Store, hence the one star. ------------------ Update review 30/07/14 Nice to see the software developers have quickly resolved the On Opening App Crash problem with the iPad version, so rating up from 1 star. As said earlier, a good database with clean lines and well presented reports and custom record screens with necessary sort / filter requirements. Creating a database is a struggle despite the great help files, primarily because of the strange terminology used, in place of database standards, such as table, field,and combo /list boxes holding field pick list values, etc., Would recommend but have used other equally good database apps with far less creation hassle, but not so pleasing to the eye on views / reports and finding data which after all is what databases are all about.

EasyasPie has all the qualities to be a very good database. It does take some time to learn. But once you get the hang of it it is easy to develope your own databases.

Absolutely love the EasyAsPie DB iPad app!! Almost gave up after 2 hrs trying to create my own DB without using any of the included templates or reading the instructions. (BTW, built-in templates are very straight forward . . just enter your data. Like very simple advanced “List app”) . So glad I, finally, scanned thru the instructions as near the end there’s a very helpful “Create a New Record Type” section. Recommend reading this section, @ minimum, if you want to create new DB or modify a built-in template. Great that can backup, import /export csv & html . Makes beautiful reports in table format. I’d like to set up some reports not in table, but instead with individual records with their fields listed down multi-columns rather than row format. Haven’t figured that out yet.

I choosed date property but i dont find any date format I need mm/yyyy format and i need group by. Thanks

So far this has been a good, functional database for me. Don't really know what its limits are. I bought the biz pack, and am using it as a custom asset tracking dbase. It is reasonably easy to customize, although the help is in tech speak and not an easy read. I would like an improved way to pull reports, hopefully in future updates.

I am delighted I found this app. I want to use it for storing information that organizes the way I want it to. I look forward to making some of my own templates as we as using the ones that come with the app. I will update my review once I have more experience with it. THANKS for a great concept!

Apparently I only have a license until 5/31. The purchase button isn't loading, so I have no idea how much I'll have to pay in a month to keep this. There's no in-app purchase in the App Store, and the purchase link from the web site takes me to the app page in the App Store. The app seems like a very powerful DB with viewing, data entry, and reporting capabilities, but the learning curve is steep, especially since they don't use industry-standard terms. Therefore, I won't delve into learning this until June 1st.
