Almost perfect for me
Been a desktop user for a few years (and an email user since 1995) and wanted to love this app. So far I’m really liking the easy setup and customisation options. It would be great if emails sent instantly. If you switch away from the app immediately after sending, it won’t send until you next open the app, which can be nasty. And when I get a new email notification and open the app, it takes a while for the actual message to download.
Doesn’t work properly
Been using the desktop version for a long time with no issues, was excited to try the new IOS/iPhone version, used the QR code for setup which worked well, but after setup realised it’s really slow to connect to email server (IMAP) and draft emails show in the folder but you can’t see the content and when you click on them it freezes then crashes. So disappointed. Would have loved this to have worked well so I could move away from the default iPhone mail software.
Very disappointed
Purposely waited for iPhone version to launch before buying desktop versions for Mac and Windows, glad I held off, app is ridiculously slow, hit and miss when downloading emails, even when notifications are received no emails visible for viewing in the app. I run 8 email accounts, and really cant rely on this app for either a business or a personal usage. Desktop versions are excellent, but unless the app performs as it should, I’ll certainly hold off purchasing.
Emails don’t send immediately which has lost me business
I’ve been using the eM Client desktop application for several years with no real problems. So I was pleased to see that they’ve released a mobile app. Unfortunately, I’ve now had to delete it because it doesn’t work properly. When you send a message, it comes up with a pop-up saying ‘message will be sent shortly’. But if you close the app it doesn’t send until you reopen it. This has meant that on at least two occasions my emails haven’t sent until the next day. This could have caused me real issues, although luckily they weren’t urgent. For this reason I’ve deleted the app and will be going back to the iPhone mail app. Shame.
Thank you
Thanks to the iOS App I can now manage my emails on my iPad.
works great!
I had been using Canary Mail because it was the only iOS email client that supported GPG, but I was frustrated with its lack of plain text support and general lack of customisation. Em Client fixes both of those while supporting GPG keys and adding a bunch of tweaks that let me set it up just how I like. If you are a technically minded emailer, I think you will like Em Client too.
Like em client BUT
Use this on my PC but don’t like it on phone as I can’t tell when I’ve received an email without continuously opening the app - sort of defeats the whole object of the app.
Best email app on iOS, and it’s free.
I’ve tried pretty much every iOS/MacOS email client. I eventually bought two licences for the desktop.
No other app comes with this combination of features and privacy. Throughout the beta the developers have listened to feedback and the one issue I had was fixed.
It may not have all the features of the main app, but it’s still better than the others… and it’s free.
Much better than Outlook already
I have to say - was not very hopeful as I have to say I still prefer outlook as do most of our users over Emclient on desktop - however it’s getting very close in terms of features. However the iOS app is amazing - the import feature is so easy to use and sets up the email account for you in seconds. The amount of customisation is also amazing. Hats off to the devs - an amazing and fully featured email client.
Can’t sign in to multiple google accounts
I’ve been testing this app in Testflight and it was great but the released version has a major problem in that it is impossible for me to sign into Google accounts that require MFA, everytime I confirm my identity in google the login has disappeared in emClient so it’s a neverending loop. Please fix asap, I want to love the app!
