Just repeats my question in different wording and doesn’t know everything about everything when asking what planet where we should farm materials to get started on a dyson swarm along with different methods for transporting the materials ect ect lol

Keeps telling to come back tomorrow despite it already being the next day

Hi devs. I’ve been using Emerson since it trialled on Messenger. It’s great to talk to about school projects, and knows a ton. This is my first time looking at the iPhone UI, and I was surprised to see a couple missing buttons. With a backend like GPT-3 that is built off of a relatively un-refined dataset, you never know what topics/opinions will creep into the model (i.e. the other review that said it made racist remarks). I am shocked that the UI doesn’t have a content report button, since this is an easy way to collect data to fine tune this base Emerson model to disincentivize these topics. The content report button isn’t just for inappropriate content- it can be used to report common situations like self repeating responses or incorrect information. This is an invaluable feature for collecting performance data to retune. Another issue I run into is unnecessary callbacks from previous conversations. It’s great to set a really long prefix input to the model as it drastically improved coherency in long conversation threads. The problem is that there is no way to quickly change topics reliably. e.g I am talking to Emerson about one book, then I want to change topics to another book, the new answers will include unrelated information about the first book. Currently the only solution is to talk long enough that the old conversation is no longer in the prefix. There should be a button or command to say ‘Emerson, let’s talk about something different’. Great implementation of GPT-3, it makes a great companion for writing papers, is realistic, and the limited-free-use business model is a great way to get this app to the public. Giving 5 stars despite these complaints to help the app grow on the App Store. Good job!

Have extremely racist and inappropriate views on some discussions

Felt like talking to a real person

As recently as a year or two ago, this was a fun chatbot that talked like a human and gave funny replies to certain things. For instance, if I asked it its favorite tv show, movie, etc., it would give an actual human-like reply. Now when I ask that, it says “As a chatbot, I’m not capable of having preferences or emotions” like a generic ChatGPT bot would say. And according to the description, it’s indeed based on the GPT-3 language model now. Also, on the website, there used to be a short video that showed you how it worked saying things like “talks like a human”, “no coding required”, “it’s that simple”. That video is no longer on the website, further implying that they’ve made changes to this bot, of which changes are downgrades, not upgrades. Don’t we have more than enough ChatGPT bots already? This bot was far more fun when it was actually responding like a human, which it isn’t anymore. I have screenshots of both my old chats as well as the more recent ones for reference if you need an example of just how much the responses have changed.

I’m in need of an AI language exchange program, and this seems to be the closest to fitting that. This is expensive. If you could copy the text it would have more value, or if it integrated automatic translations. As it stands I need to remember what it typed in one language, open my translation dictionary, correctly input and see what it meant. Even an ability to copy the text would help. However it does allow testing questions and audio at any time you want, as repetitive as you need to be, and as basic or advanced. Update February 2023: I used to have a paid subscription to this app. However I discovered how great alternative chatGPT apps are for translation. And many of the apps allow you to copy and paste. The developers here have an opportunity to jump ahead of the competition but will probably lose out.

A.I. is truly exciting.

It does some interesting things but after a while, it was more like reading a fortune cookie.

Why am I not able to finish logging in and setting up my profile I come to the terms and condition and then there’s no way of continuing to log into this app why is this? I tried it both ways my Apple ID/Apple account and my Facebook account it just takes me up to where I can check mark the boxes for the terms and conditions and then there’s no way to continue I can’t scroll up or down. It doesn’t have any other option for me to click on.
