EO Charging

The UX for for your charge history is terrible, there is no way to quickly see how much you have used overall, you have to click into each charge to see the details, and also there is no ability to download all the data. So it is almost impossible to get an overview of how much you are spending on charging your car.

Probably the worst app that I’ve ever tried to use. Unbelievably clunky. Not at all user friendly. Repeatedly asks for details that I’ve already submitted. Won’t connect to home WiFi. I will not be recommending EO chargers to friends and family.

The app does not have any good feature, just basic. The device had problem twice… The device did not work with OVO or Octopus energy to get the cheapest tariff. So I do not know for what the smart thing yet… I could not find any company that have some better tariff…

App wont let me connect charger to home wifi - it just displays the ‘loading’ when endlessly. This unable to charge my vehicle until sorted. Called EO direct and the lady couldn’t help and said someone would call me. Still waiting on this call back.

I never leave reviews no matter how much i dislike an app but this app & infrastructure represents everything wrong with EV adaptation and serves as a painful stereotype as to why many continue to dislike EVs. Saw a couple of these chargers located right in front of my local Basildon Cineworld park lot, parked up, downloaded and signed up to their app (Which was an incredibly tedious process, many machines are now contactless and require only a tap of your card, and at the very least, allow you to sign up via Apple pay but no worries, I had 10 minutes to spare before a movie) After completing sign up, i attempt to scan their QR code located on the charger to begin a charge and noticed the QR code had completely faded... on 7/7 of their machines. Ok wow. Major oversight but whatever, luckily their app allows for manual serial number input. So after checking all machines again I manage to find 2/7 machines with a barely readable manual serial number that hadn’t completely faded. Tried both and It still didn’t work. At this point, i’m late and incredibly annoyed. A waste of money and resources to the park that had these installed, a waste of time for EV owners, and a disgrace to the EV infrastructure. Hands down the worst EV charger I’ve attempted to use.

Went to see a client who has a massive installation of chargers. Was in my Tesla. I don’t usually use non Tesla chargers precisely because of issues I encountered with this app. Download the app and scan the QR charge on the charger and it wouldn’t work. Manually input the charger code and it would not work. Call EO up and it just cuts you off with no help. Had to give up after 30 mins of wasted time and fortunately there was a nearby Tesla Suoercharger which of course worked flawlessly.

This app should just work straightaway but setting it up is a nightmare.

App has few features compared to other like ohme. Got this charger due to facility of solar charging but this is yet to arrive. Main gripes are you can’t set a charge to stop when your car reaches a certain battery % meaning you have to guess for battery management. Also you can’t actually stop a charge from the app you have to physically remove the cable to stop it, which is useless if you are out and about and want to stop a charge. App needs more features to make charger worthwhile, I regret my purchase.

First unit had to be replaced due to old firmware which wasn’t capable of being updated remotely. New unit constantly tells me that it is unable to connect to Wi-Fi. App seems incredibly buggy. Needs sorting.

App doesn't work, chargers won’t activate, no phone support, seems to have been that way for a month or more. Never mind, it’s a rubbish app anyway
