Useless app

Courier.0161 on

Vereinigtes Königreich

Constant connection issues since instalation. Most of the time my van wasn't charging overnight as it supposed to do on off peak tariff. After app update it eventually does but just once or twice. App is absolutely rubbish. Better use the charger as a plug & charge - at least that option works. Do not recommend whatsoever. Go for different provider.

Very Buggy App

Sonicpromo on

Vereinigtes Königreich

App is very buggy. Refresh & boost buttons do not work properly & we often find smart charge does not kick in so our car isn’t charged in the morning. Not a very reliable system for charging your car!

Used to be good

Oilymo on

Vereinigtes Königreich

The app used to work and we could rely on it but now it doesn’t. The support team (who are polite but do take time to respond) have openly admitted that they are having problems processing the Octopus Agile time slots and to turn off smart charging!! This isn’t a fix and is costing us money. When it works it’s great but we can’t trust it so either charge at peak or not at all. Also the recent update/GUI is awful.

Poor

Rubbish - randomly offline, therefore can't monitor usage.

Unreliable

Don’t load latest upgrade . Nothing now works

Bad update

Pagemakers on

Vereinigtes Königreich

Been using the app for years with no issues. The new update is a backward step. The charging schedule is now poorly displayed, and on several occasions since the update, either the car has charged at the wrong time or not changed at all. If it continues, I’ll have no choice other than delete the app.for now I’ve had to turn smart charging off.

Ford won’t connect

Gam_The_Man on

Vereinigtes Königreich

Unfortunately you still advertise Ford Mustang Mach-e, but since May 2024 Ford have blocked any 3rd party communication for security breaches. Although this isn’t your fault, I’ve mentioned before that the Ford vehicle option should be removed until Ford resolve. It’s now Dec 2024 and still not resolved

Some pluses but patchy so not worth of 5*

We’ve been using this app for at least a year. In essence it’s a great addition to owning an EV and being on an agile tariff means I rely heavily on it to allow me to smart charge. We cannot rely on the Kia or Hyundai schedules because they fail all the time. But I do find this has intermittent issues which are silent but deadly. Our Hyundai seems to be commonly dropping “offline”. There is no explanation as to what this means or how to resolve it. It happens with no warning (I have notifications on) and has resulted in discovering an empty car that should have charged over night and an irate husband. Your customer service team are lovely and helpful when you hear from them. But it can take 24 hours to respond. Which might as well be a month when you’re in a state of frustration. Lastly I do not like the recent dashboard update. Squishy and lacks intuition to work out when the next smart charge will happen. Change it back please

Great App that makes ev charging simple

JR_Devonian on

Vereinigtes Königreich

Just installed a WaEV charger that came bundled with the ev.energy app. High quality charger that dovetails well with the app. Input your unit rates (Octopus Go for me) and it tracks your spend and can also help ensure the energy you use is the ‘cheapest, greenest and most grid friendly’. Looking forward to getting solar panels installed so I can use the integrated solar smart charging. At the moment I’ve set it to charge during my Octopus low rate period only. The App is well set out, simple to use and plenty of useful data is available.

Charged during peak

Gromitsk on

Vereinigtes Königreich

App charged during peak even though “off peak” selected. . I no longer trust this app.
