FAA CFI Flight Instructor Prep

If you are running newer devices like iPhone 14 or a M power iPad, forget about it. Will crash. They clearly don’t care about updating the app, it is still framed for the old style iPad screens, black bars on either side of the frame. Obvious they care very little about the customer and put as minimal effort into the app to get it over the line… Disappointing.

I prepared for FOI with this app. I got 96 at the test, but about 3/4 of the questions were to some degree different from the app’s database. However, I like the explanation and discussion portion of the study as well as different levels of practice. I have been using Dauntless test prep software for all my knowledge tests because I like to understand what’s behind the correct answer. Also I find making a phone call to get Shepherds Air app way too … unnecessary

I just left the CFI written exam and I passed with a 71 however I haven’t see probably 75% of the questions on the exam. I started using dauntless for my private and it was good then but it’s progressively gotten worse with each rating. I gave myself 2 weeks to prep for this exam and I’ve gone through probably over 5,000 practice questions. I sat down today and take the actual exam and I’ve never felt more helpless and underprepared. Save your money and go with a different test prep program.

I used Dauntless to study for Fundamentals of Instruction. Now I’m preparing for Ground Instructor Advanced. Then I will do Flight Instructor Airplane after that. The app allows you to select which test you want to study for, and what method of study based on how well you know the material. I also bought the optional voice option so I could listen to questions and answers in the car. I recommend Dauntless apps for anyone preparing for an FAA written test.

I used this to study for FOI. I got a 90%. I got a good amount of questions I hadn’t seen before on the actual exam. But the questions on this app were close enough. I’m studying for FIA now. Shepherd Air has a better question bank. But this app has multiple tests (like FOI + FIA), and does a good job with the explanation to every question. I also like the question stack system, which helps you focus on weak areas. Great app overall!

I love the current and up to date question database and the fact that you can continuously update so you have all current questions is amazing. This app is invaluable!

Use Sheppard Air. I have used both and there is no comparison. Sheppard gets my students ready much faster and results in much higher test scores. Dauntless last staff is callous and difficult to access. They don't have a phone number to reach them with, and are generally slow to respond with an email. The opposite is true with Sheppard.

I have tried to use other applications to help me study for various FAA tests but they would have outdated questions or it would only be a final test and not help with the preparation of the test. I believe that the work that was put into this app but all the other apps that they have made is extremely well thought out and done in a fashion that makes it easy for the user to customize what they need to study for and what they are having trouble remember for the test. They also have amazing customer support for any questions that you have or any problems you have with the app. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to study for an FAA test and be able to study anywhere at anytime.

Passed my FIG flight instructor glider exam with a 94%! Pleased to say that this study material is excellent! The questions on my real test were spot on with the study material! Definitely 10/10 would recommend if you are looking to take the FIG exam!

I reached out to Dauntless to get some advice on the AGI test I would be taking in a few days after my FIA. My FIA test results were passing, but not ideal. Instead of giving me advice they belittled me and said I didn’t study enough and I’m pouty about my score. Not very customer service friendly. Also the questions on simulated tests were repeated over and over. Look else where.
