If you thought designing and making your own clothes was simple, think again, because there’s so much more than drawing, cutting and sewing!
In Fashion Designer Dressmaking you’ll open your own store and start from the very bottom, working your way all the way to the top of the fashion tree and the catwalks of the world!
First things first, though, you’ll have to get your new store cleaned because no one is going to come and look at your creations if your fashion store is filthy and grubby! Dust off all the cobwebs, clean up the store’s windows, polish all the surfaces and decorate the room just the way you want it. You need a good-looking store that compliments your designs to sell in this town!
Then you can add all your dress making equipment. There’s the sewing machine which we can use to fix up some dazzling drapes, the tailor’s dummy that we can dress in some fabulous clothes to sit in the window, the gorgeous cloths and textiles and the all-important dress makers tape measure!
Now we’re ready for customers. Your clientele are a demanding bunch, they don’t want off the peg clothes, they expect the best – hand tailored dresses made to measure that fit perfectly and look amazing! You’ll have to measure them up to make sure it’s perfect, and they’ll also expect you to style them with beautiful accessories!
Of course, as any great dressmaker and stylist will tell you, there’s a lot more that goes on behind the scenes than just tailoring – clients will come in with their beautiful creations all dirty and messed up and they’ll want them fixed up sooner than you can say Cinderella! The best tailors never flap, they’re always ready to fix and mend whatever time of day it is for the right clients!
All this and you're only at the start of your journey to the top of the fashion world! With Fashion Designer Dressmaking you'll learn how to dress and style the boys, brand and style your fashion house truck (got to make sure you're seen on the streets, right!) and even get busy styling your customers kittens because in the world of the rich and famous, everything needs to be stylish and everyone's kitty needs some accessories!
