Got a external drive hooked to my Vodafone pro hub a few tweeks and I can now access all my files on my iPad !! Thank you
I am a digital artist, who now mainly works in Procreate. After drawing something I would often need to do other stuff with it so I needed it on my main computer. There were a number of solutions out there, but honestly; If you have a WiFi HDD and you want to have access to all your files in a number of locations this app is amazing. I go in to file browser, go into photos, select the image/s I want to transfer and select move, then I navigate to my WiFi HDD find the folder I want and then just select move here and it i done. Files are off my iPad in to a shared drive where any of my devices can connect to them. You can also connect with an iPhone and so on. One of the best apps on my iOS devices.
I have been using this a lot and it has always impressed me. Constant developments keep it up-to-date. Support is second to none. I have had it on all my iPads/phones since I bought them. Invaluable BUT please don't drop support for IOS 9.3 !! Update: Feb 2024 and still works on 9.3.5. Thanks!
I’ve been using it for about 4 years and it keeps getting better. Great app
So far so good. Was trying to use Google Drive on my phone but it balloons in size as you use it, taking up all your free space. This app on the other hand actually gives you options and the ability to control cached data. Don’t know why a company like Google wouldn’t give you that option. Me preferring this over that can really come down to things as simple as that. It also has an inbuilt music player which once again, Google Drive lacks, though I suppose that’s not Google Drive’s main purpose, however it’s a nice bonus to have here. My issue with it however is that to my understanding, there is no way to replay a single track. Would probably give this app 5 stars if the ability to do this was added in the future. An additional feature I would appreciate not really as important as replaying singular music tracks, would be the ability to loop videos, having them replay as they end. Overall this app gives the user a lot of control over their storage including cloud storages which is great! It supports image viewing including GIFs, (big plus), video and audio playback with dedicated players, an especially big plus for audio files, and it supports document viewing too. You can reorder your files in many different configurations, and manage files, allowing you to move and delete them to your will. The amount of control you’re given is great. That along with its robustness and the amount of media types it supports is what I think makes this app shine. So far worth the price in my opinion, it makes your phone or whatever you’re using even more PC like. Everyone should consider using this. Edit: Video player buffers waaaay too much.
Update: I’ve been using FileBrowser now for a number of years mainly to transfer photos between my Windows PC and my iPads. Recently bought a new Windows 11 laptop and connected to it ok with one iPad but had issue with the other. Prompt response from Support helped resolve that so everything okay now. Continues to be an excellent app for my purposes. Original: I've used a number of clunky ways of getting files from my PC to my iPad involving Skydrive, Dropbox or email attachments. File Browser offers a much easier method of transferring files as well as connecting to memory sticks or external drives plugged into the USB port on my router. I had a minor problem setting up the connection to my PC and had to ask for help from Stratospherix. The reply was very quick and contained simple instructions on how to resolve the problem which was related to my PC set up rather than the app.
I bought this app for the sole reason of renaming photos on my iPad Pro. I don’t use cloud nor any other Apple devices. Nowhere is a function to actually rename a picture. I can share, delete, copy, export, create a link, add voice, see properties, markup, etc… but not simply "rename". Waste of money. Got a free trial in photoshop and managed to find how to rename my pictures in 10 seconds.
Why would I pay for an app that then tells me to use another app that replicates the same functionality.
This App is the business, I use it to access music, photos and videos on my NAS. It just seems to get better and better. Hopefully more video formats will be supported in the future. Digga
