Good port until it crashes when loading saved games. Not impressed.

Never let items go to waste. Combine two items or pieces of equipment together and make better, stronger items!
・Minigames
Whether it's Chocobo Hot and Cold, Jump Rope, or Tetra Master, there are plenty of minigames to enjoy when you're not off saving the world.
You can even earn special item rewards!

Crashing when you load a save
As of June 2024, the game still crashes when you load a save. Apple and Square have still not fixed it.
Problems with controller support
Backbone registers multiple button inputs. Would be a great port otherwise.
Was excited to play, but…
I bought a controller attachment and was looking forward to playing one of my favorite RPGs. But, as other reviews have said, although controllers are supported, a single button press is registered as multiple. This really affects the experience any I’m very disappointed that Square hasn’t done anything to fix this problem. Please think of your fans and do something about this 🙏🏽
Lost cloud save
I can no longer retrieve my cloud save. Results in a connection timeout. I’ve tried it several times over the past few weeks. Lost all my progress.
Load issue resolved
Used to have the loading crash issue but it seems to be fixed. Great game. Good port.
Not worth
Game constantly crashes when trying to load a save file. Unplayable and I feel ripped off.
Persistence pays off
I had trouble with the game shutting down when I tried to load it. BUT… IF YOU KEEP TRYING, IT WILL EVENTUALLY LOAD! One time it took 15 minutes of reloads, but if you keep trying it will load. Beside the load issue, the game works fine and it was a great play through. I would recommend it to anyone.
Controller issue
Final Fantasy IX is a great game when it works. This version is totally unplayable with a controller. Every face button press leads to a random number of inputs. Incredibly frustrating.
Keeps shutting off
Game was going great, Now everytime I open it it cuts off…
