Phenomenal App
The iOS app along with the web app (beta mode) are phenomenal and truly insightful as an athlete. There were reviews that the UI is terrible but the developer has improved and it looks amazing. Would recommend

Love (LOVE) the Apple Watch workout integration, but currently there is a bug where if you do a Final Surge workout that is synced the the Apple Watch (as opposed to just an Outdoor Run or something on the watch) then the Final Surge app will not sync it up and will think you did not run. Example: I did a Final Surge synced run on Sunday so that it would notify me when out of pace. The app did not pick up that I did the work out. This morning I did just and Outdoor Run open goal work out on my Apple Watch and the Final Surge app synced it immediately.
My company has used Final Surge for training youth and adult endurance sports athletes for over seven years now, and the software just keeps getting better! This latest update is a giant leap! And you don’t have to be a coach like us to see how good their software is. You’ll love using this for yourself as an athlete. This is truly a great app!
Tim and the crew at Final Surge have made some major upgrades! Always adding what coaches are asking for. If you coach athletes and need a place to keep everything central, Final Surge is the place to do it.
Love the app so far for my marathon training plan. I’m also glad the latest update syncs directly with Apple Health and Apple Watch. However, when I set it to push upcoming workouts to my Watch, it causes the app to crash. Hopefully a further update fixes this bug.
The app is a huge pain to get workouts from Apple Watch to sync through. I had to download a second app to push the data through and even then it doesn’t take in mile splits unless you are creating new intervals/segments on the watch. Overall quite frustrating that the integration is so bad but Apple Watch works fine with Strava and Training Peaks
Why does it sum my planned + completed runs? What do the different colors mean? I can’t with this app
I haven’t seen them try to improve this app since I started using it a year ago. For example the use of color in my workouts is so confusing! I will have spent over 30 seconds on a strength class and it marks it blue. Also it repeats the activity request in my workouts and your activity- which just doesn’t make sense. Why? Beyond the log of seeing what a trainer wants you to do I don’t see the value in this app. My trainer could provide me with a doc instead that lists out workouts that would be easier to use. Please please improve this app.
I’ve just starting using this app. It it works great as a communication platform for my coach and I. I have an AppleWatch and use HealthFit as a go between since Final Surge doesn’t import directly from Fitness+. It would be really nice if Final Surge would import the Splits from HealthFit and not just the Segments.
Doesn’t sync well with apple. Even using strava or HealthFit lap data doesn’t come over. Would be a lot better if this brought over data correctly
