Good design and user experience
Volle Empfehlung!
I love this app, but I think it needs a few features: it has no exercises for below the knee; there’s no way to reset your preferences, so you get stuck in the same cycle of exercises regardless of your “randomness” setting; there aren’t any options to add cardio to your workout; you can’t adjust the algorithm to change rep/weight ratios- you can do it manually when you’re in the middle of the work out, but it won’t remember that and adjust accordingly for your next work out. I consider these to be fairly minor and the app as a whole is great, but it would be nice to have these features!
So I used to use this app everyday. It served its purpose well in the beginning. Then i found other tracking apps that were free and more flexible. Came back on the app today (i have the annual subscription) and saw a new body scan feature. Gave it a shot and took the pics. Unfortunately, they paywalled the results for even more money. I assumed that id be getting the results given that i did pay the annual subscription fee…nope. And not even a heads up either. They wait til you take the pics until prompting additional payment. Pretty slimy. And even worse, there is no policy around deleting your pics immediately. In fact, you cant even request they delete it. Yall really dropped the ball on this app. Glad i canceled my subscription earlier this year.
DO NOT USE MADMUSCLES APP They practice in deceptive add ons to charge you and make it impossible to cancel anything. Their initial trial period just gets your card information and then layers on add ons that charge you with no verification before you can even get to the usage part of the app. Then they try to offer you MORE when you request to remove the unwanted charge and add on and refuse to do anything. I’m turning them in to BBB and blocking the charges on my card but want to warn everyone. The large amount of one start reviews for the same instances are littered on all review platforms.
Biggest grievance: 0 new exercises added in the 3 full years ive used this app. Can’t recommend this app to beginners or advanced/experienced users. There are better options, and it feels like the makers have abandoned this and aren’t even trying to improve it. I see they put out updates with “bug fixes and performance improvements” but i highly doubt they did anything except move their mouse. TLDR positive: if you must use this app, it’s best for beginners or ff youre new to the gym or trying to figure out your gym flow, this app is good enough. TLDR negatives: This app is just a $90/yr exercise journal with a timer for intermediate/advanced/experienced users, and it doesn’t even do that part well. i’m willing to bet they don’t use a real AI. it’s buggy, it’s insufficient for advanced users and people with access to gym equipment not at planet fitness like vipr pro, trx, bosu, landmine, etc. Detailed positives: tracks progress, gives a jumpstart on workout itinerary, helps figure out when it’s appropriate to progress to more weight, apple watch connection is convenient (when it works), steady progression. Detailed negatives: again—no new workouts added in the 3 full years I’ve subscribed. There’s a high-to-low cable fly, bit there isnt a low-to-high cable fly exercise. It’s a buggy interface and the app freezes at least once a workout and it needs to be reset. It cant stay connected to apple watch for the entirety of even a 30 minute workout. It doesnt have many compound movements, includes limited kettlebell exercises, no options for landmine barbell exercises except the standing row, vipr pro or medicine balls or trx or bosu. It doesnt even include kettlebell swings or farmer walks, yet they include the zottman curl which is arguably more esoteric than both of those kettlebell exercises. Some static exercises like planks are measured in reps instead of time/seconds, and some assisted exercises like an assisted pull up have an arbitrary weight measurement in the sense that the program suggests that youre “decreasing difficulty” even though progress means removing weight from the machine. I’m pretty sure some of the examples of the character doing the exercise are wrong bc the human body cant move like that. You cant customize fine details of your workout suggestions such as number of exercises per muscle group, it only lets you name which muscle groups you want for that day and for how long you want to workout (with a maximum of 90 minutes which ma
I signed up for one month to try the app and they continued to charge me. I reached out to them and told them to cancel the subscription and they still charged me for another month.
If you’re just beginning your fitness journey, this app may be enough to get you going. For anyone else that has been working out/lifting for any length of time - this app is amazing waste of money. I was hoping that an app marketed with A.I. would come with some really cool and intelligent features to help gain muscle/size in unique and effective ways - this app is not that. Disappointing. Make sure you filter reviews to show “most recent” - that will tell you the actual story of this basic app. Recommend not paying any $ for this.
Good app but add more workouts and machines
Been using it for a little over a month and its just the same 20 workouts. They claim to have all these exercises but you have to manually program everything. Nothing to do with ai. The interface and how it works is awesome and great. I have dumbbells and its just the same stuff. For 90, I was expecting more of a variety Update. Been using it for over 4 months and not impressed. All it does is cycle the same three routines in every third day for those who are working out at home. So all your doing is just putting more stress I. The same joints because it’s the same workout. The is no AI in this app. If you can do the. Timber of reps at the weight is suggest, it just throws one more rep on for the next workout. If you can’t do it, it just keeps the same rep. You can do this all this with a piece of paper. Much better workout apps than this one.
