Forge: Hiking Trail Maps

The app is so simple to use, quick to navigate and dependable. Saved my skin more than once where hiking trails weren’t all that clear and I could pull up my offline map and navigate my way through.

This would be a great app if they made an effort to include areas outside of the western cape and gauteng. If you don’t live in either of those areas this is useless.

Slow and sluggish also not user friendly. Needs to be tested for user experience as well. Looks poorly designed.

Downloaded this app yesterday morning before a hike over table mountain. We would have been dead without it! Downloaded the map and had my phone on airplane mode to save battery the whole way. GPS located us and guided us the whole way with incredible accuracy. With so many trails and poor marking we couldn’t have done it without. Was blown away - this is an incredible tool.

Great app full of comprehensive trails. Definitely know that the people behind this have spent time verifying that all the trails added are legit. Recommend to everyone going to an area that Forge has already added.

Such a disappointment! Not iPad friendly! Impossible to navigate back to main maps menu!

I’ve tried this app on 2 different phones and it crashes as soon as you try open it.

Not really user friendly, doesn’t adequately map out routes and the functionality is quite frustrating.

By mountain lovers for everyone, really enjoying getting to know the mountains with the app!

Love the app. So easy to use! The trail grading really helps when planning my day out especially when people say the hike is easy and I look at the app and it says difficult. The trails are accurate and easy to follow especially when there’s a lack of signage. The offline maps are great for when you lose signal. Great job!
