App is great, but I am having issues syncing my laptop with my iPad.
This app has made my life 1000x easier. I don’t know what I’d do without it so I hope it stays available forever. Highly recommend to all perfumers!
Great for storing your library of materials, it would be nice to have an option for accords library option, and for it to be easily integrated into formulas, instead of reloading all your raw materials for the formula manually. Another suggestion is for a extensive csv library of raw materials to be downloaded for the full version. Love this app.
I haven’t purchased it (yet!) because I’m still working with the free version but this app seems very worth the money and very useful. I watched the tutorial on YouTube which was extremely helpful and only took about an hour. This app is going to save me so much time and money. My only complaint is that you don’t make an account for the app, it’s linked to your ICloud. So if I’m making perfume with another person and want them to have access to the same database on a different device, it’s hard to share the login information.
Clean, simple and very straightforward interrelational database. Anyone who has used iTunes can navigate this. Time-saving data entry tool that beats excel spreadsheets by a mile. Analytical features that help formula evaluations. When dealing with a large library of aroma chemicals this is a huge advantage.
If you love spreadsheets like me, letting go of control can feel weird. How can I be sure all my relevant info is available? How are the calculations done? How are updates? Well, all are much, much better than any spreadsheet I set up. The data hoarder in me is happy to add tons of notes to materials. The math nerd loves the clever ways formulas are calibrated. I don't know how the design snob ever felt comfortable with spreadsheets tbh. This app is gorgeous. Can you imagine if Apple made Contacts run this smoothly? Also, my weighing station doesn't have room for my laptop. With Formulair, I just use my phone to get the formulas. I update the Mac later. It's better than the best I could imagine. Documentation is also excellent, both on the dev's site and Sam Macer's YouTube channel. Easiest IAP I ever bought.
As much as I love the old-school practice of writing out formulas (the simple act of writing out a formula gives me the luxury of time to really consider if or how I should add a material etc), but I am of the very new-school, need-it-done-now, gather-information-quickly, produce-results generation. This app is thoroughly thought out, from the ground up, top to bottom and side-to-side with every feature helpful in the process of formulating. Each feature exists for a practical and useful reason, and no feature that really has no practical use and serves no useful function is eliminated so you'd really have to be a dumb-dumb to fail using this app. Side grip: I wish the settings were inside the app itself so I don't have to go to my actual phone settings to change advanced settings. But that's not even a bother once I figured out where those advanced settings were. The only CON: both the app and my desktop version crash constantly when deleting material categories or deleting materials.
I absolutely love this app, it’s almost perfect! Only thing missing is being able to use on my windows computer. Other than that, 1000% recommend! Thank you for this
This app is a game changer for me. As a new perfumer, it's been incredibly helpful with keeping track of ingredients and is just an all around fantastic tool for creating perfumes. It's also been fun to use when creeating theoretical perfumes that I haven't tested yet. The one thing I would like to be added in the future (assuming I'm not completely stupid and don't know it's already a feature) is a way to add save formulas for accords into other formulas. So for example, if I have a strawberry accord, and I want to use it in a perfume, I would love if I could add the accord instead of individually adding the ingredients to a new formula. Regardleess, I'm loving this app.
This app is user friendly. Once you get the hang of it. Not to hard to understand like other ones I’ve seen.
