Genius Jamtracks

Excellent practice app, great sounding play along tracks nicer and more real sounding than most other similar apps out there.

Downloaded and tried the app in a few practise sessions. Seems like a decent alternative to iRealPro. Surprised that there is no way to loop a selection of bars to focus on a certain section of a song. That should be a feature added in the future. Also despite explanations I’ve found regarding Ratios, Groupings and Other I’m still not understanding how to use these features the way I would want to nor is it explained if these modes are accumulative or independent. Messing around with these features seems to add an extensive amount of unnatural gaps in the background music playing. Like someone hit the pause button on the band and then started them up again randomly. Other times it’s like the backing track is purposely trying to throw you off as oppose to merely adding variety or added fills. Perhaps it’s just a matter of not having the bass and drums adopt these added complexities in Practise mode. At any rate I rather Jam mode which is simpler to understand and adding complexity is as easy as moving a slider. A useful app for musicians. It could be more comprehensive and have loop section feature as I said.

I think this app has tremendous potential. I do appreciate you correcting the bass sounds. They are still not quite what they were but at least they are usable. I think the artificial intelligence needs to be tweaked a little bit as I am sure you will do overtime. As it stands now it is possible to discover some very interesting situations both rhythmically and harmonically, but you do have to dig for it. At certain settings the AI is completely ridiculous. I simple love this app. Sounds are sooo good. I’m a jazz rookie, but this really cooks.

Your charts are wrong. And the rhythm section swings like an amateur Lawrence Welk band. The only people who play jazz like that anymore are baby boomers and nerds.

This app is awesome . Here is my feature request: let me set it to cue the bar at any interval. For example I start out cuing every bar when I’m first learning to never lose my place. Then I cue every other bar to force myself to remember two, then every fourth bar etc until I don’t have to cue any!

Please fix this it could be brilliant. Nothing worse than unreliable software.

The idea behind this app is great and I’ve enjoyed playing with it but it now keeps crashing :(

There was an issue with saving original progressions/tunes. This has been fixed and now the engine is doing its unique work on all kinds of novel harmonic progressions. Looking forward to more HALF TIME feels and variations on rhythmic displacement and more sophisticated bass lines. This is a game changing app the feels way more natural than the competitors. Great work!

I saved three original tunes and after quitting the app when I reopened it they were all gone except for the last one I saved. I tried it all o we again and the same thing happened. Great app except for that FATAL FLAW.
