Almost Perfect
I got this a while back and have been very pleased with it. The main appeal for Genius maps is that it works offline and comes with a lifetime of map updates. I bought all of Europe for a modest sum which really was great value. Sometimes the app has taken me on some unexpected roads that my Garmin would not - but it seems to improve with every update, of which I've had 3 so far since I bought it 8 months ago. Their customer service is also very good and I always received a reply within 12 hours. Really, for the money I cannot fault it. It also can be installed on all your other ios devices although I just use it on the iPhone 4. It is handy also when using it as a handheld nav. I did notice however that the tracking seemed to lose where I was walking - after having put it in my pocket and taken it out again to see where I had to turn next. The app is optimised for iPhone 5 and I was using iPhone 4 so maybe that was the reason for this behaviour. In these instances my only option was to restart the app. A software update might sort that out. This only happened while using it by foot. The user interface is easy enough to use once you get used to it, and is attractive and well laid out. If I was to have one other Minor complaint, it would be as follows. Some of the European country maps are quite large. France for example is almost 500mb. To use it, one must load the whole country into one's device - even if you are only travelling through a small portion of that country. I thought it would be better for such large country maps to have the option of only loading in portions of that country map, that one may need - for example in this case - the north of France only. This would be handy if your device has a smaller memory capacity such as mine (8Gb). I have already suggested this to Mireo by email so maybe they will implement this feature in a later update. So, overall it is good value and well laid out. I am hoping it will improve with each update.
