Genius: Song Lyrics Finder

I like the app but the chasing and report the problem button not working is an issue that needs fixing

Just search the lyrics on Spotify they stopped doing the thing

The advertisements were making my phone so slow. It was 99999x faster using safari with ad blocker.

the app idea is good, but it has the worst search of any service i’ve ever used. you can type in lyrics exactly and get completely irrelevant results. Type in the title of the song and again get everything but the song. Same with just trying to find an artist, you have to add a song or you just won’t get the right result. You always have to type in the artist and song title and then it’ll finally give you it unless it’s an artist so popular where needing this app for them is irrelevant. Also ads are pretty bad and lyrics are often wrong. i have no opinion on the music playback because if you’re playing music through this app then why? just use the lyrics tab built into most streaming apps.

After every time you click on lyrics or other songs. The app gets slower and slower until it slows your entire phone and you need to close it. Their optimization needs a lot of work. Been going on for years now, get a new coding team.

literally takes up so much of my power in my phone it heats it up so much. like genius is a big enough company to hire someone to make a better app that doesn’t make me play hot potato with my phone. I’ve never had this problem with any other app on the app store. you could literally use this app to diy a heating pad. also i can only keep the app open for like 5 minutes it force quits.

I cant lisen to the be whole song i cabn only listen to like 10-15 seconds >:(

Upon opening the app, my entire phone starts to overheat and lag to a point where I struggle to even close the app. For now and the foreseeable future, the web version is far superior.

The app wont allow you to open any images & of videos only play in portrait mode.

Genius is a great organization and i really appreciate having a reliable place to go for song lyrics + all the other info you might want about a song. However, the app lacks a ton of features from the web version. Most people who aren’t contributors might not care but I like to annotate songs and translate lyrics but it’s harder to do that from the app. You can’t even change your profile picture on the app or follow artists you like. For some reason that’s exclusive to the web version of the app. I’m not complaining too much since genius is free but it would be nice if already existing features had a usable interface on the app.
