The app recently asked me to update through Google play. I have an iPhone and only has Apple Store so am I not able to use the app anymore????

Use GoCarma to get high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) toll discounts on Dallas-Fort Worth TEXpress Lanes during weekday peak periods (6:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.).
HOW IT WORKS
To qualify for a 50% toll discount, make sure that there are at least 2 people in the vehicle with the GoCarma app on their phone. The app will activate automatically and use GPS and Bluetooth to verify your HOV status, even when the app is closed.
Before you depart, you may check your current status by tapping on the orange button on the home screen. Check back on the home screen later in the day to see confirmation that you qualified for the discount, or consult your toll bill.
TRAVEL WITH KIDS?
No problem, just send us a message. We'll send you an Occupant Pass that you can carry on board whenever you travel with kids in the car. This is a small and non-trackable Bluetooth tag that simply tells the GoCarma app that a 2nd person is in the vehicle.

GoCarma uses your GPS only when you travel on an active corridor (e.g. TEXpress Lanes in Dallas-Fort Worth) and only during active time periods (e.g. weekday morning and evening peak periods). This data is only used to verify your HOV status, and this data expires after 60 days.
Your personal data is never shared with anyone.

this app just needs to verify that there are more than one person in a car for HOV pricing on the tollways, but it spends more energy collecting data to sell than anything else, so it uses an inordinate amount of energy to run, which is unfortunate, because it's ALWAYS running.
Set it and Forget it
I set it up once and open it once a month to compare to my NTTA statement. Works as advertised as long as you have 2 or more people with the app installed in your car.
Battery killer
Since the app must run with location “always on” and “background app refresh,” the app kills my iPhone battery. Feels as if this drain started happening recently so perhaps you can fix with an app update. I just have to remember to open the app each time I do ride in express lane. That’s a huge pain.
Eats my Battery
Recently - since the latest update, I suspect - GoCarma has been responsible for more than 50% of my battery usage according to my iPhone’s battery report. This is happening even on days that I don’t drive anywhere
Battery drain
Uses so much battery. Checked battery usage and it is on top of the list at almost 40% of my battery usage. Please update app and fix. I would uninstall but if you want to drive express lanes you have to have it for the multi passenger.
Battery Drainer
This app is constantly running my battery down. Just checked my battery usage and this has been 40% of my last 24 hours of battery and 33% of my last week of battery. Adjustments need to be made to the app for running in the background.
Convenient
App works great . Working 70 miles away and being able to carpool helps out a lot especially by just hitting a button on other riders phone
App constantly bugs me for Always On GPS location
I certainly would prefer to never have to even need an app for HOV toll discounts or pay these ridiculous tolls at all. But the app does give me discounts. My only complaint is that it is always in your face about Always On GPS tracking. Seems unnecessary to need it on all the time and when I decline to constantly nag me to switch it to Always On. Annoying
