Grocery List: Shopping List

I thought this was an updated version of an (excellent) free app I had however I was wrong! I’m unable to sync or share lists with this app and the lists are not fully customizable i.e., can’t turn off amounts, cost or remove the default list in settings. The app needs quite a bit work to be useable.

Hands down the best shopping list app for dyslexics and people like me. Coloured sections keeps everything from floating all over the place. I had this app on my old phone & it was a better app. Phone death upgrade and I came back to find that they changed the name and profit model: I had to buy the app again. Annoying but not a deal breaker. At $3 it’s a modest expense and the tension it saves me when shopping is worth every cent (psychologists cost a lot more)! Best thing is the way it saves and catalogs your items. Making them available and reusable. Needs improvements to master list controls. I’d like to export my top level to be mirrored on my partners phone (not just the items list). Sort order for categories and ability to add delete to default list rather than just edit it would be great. Would be great if it could live update prices from the monopoly supermarkets but that’s not essential just very handy. I tried most of the other shopping list apps and they did my head in. This was a quick learning curve and relatively pain free. I hate shopping! This makes my life better…

I had something similar that is now not available and I thought this might have been the same. It would be perfect if I could share/link with my family and we all adds items as only one of us shops.

Exactly what I was wanting. Function to categorise makes shopping easier, and having the ability to add multiple lists is a good option.

I’ve used this app for 5+ years. It took a little time to set up but it’s worth it. When I go grocery shopping I don’t like going up and down all the isles looking for an item. My list was created by isle number and what’s on each isle. I create my list at home and I only see items I need by isle. So I can start at isle 20 (for example) then skip isles and go directly to the next isle where I need an item. That isle may be 8, therefore skipping 12 isles. Separate lists can be created for each store you shop at. If you enjoy going up and down each isle then by all means do so. If you would rather get in and get out, this list is amazing!

I too was mad when my old app didn’t transfer onto my new phone. I tried 3 other apps before deciding to look longer on the App site. I didn’t give 5 stars as it’s a little confusing to set the categories & add your list. I have finally got it figured out & will be using my list on Thursday when I go grocery shopping. Otherwise, I’m very happy to have you’re app back on my phone. The other choices I tried were terrible!

APP CREATORS::…PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE build a way to find the items that have been deleted as done items ~ OR ~ REMOVE the DELETE ALL option. Here is why I’m asking for that….. Today while grocery shopping I had about 10 items left on my list to get and as I was removing the items I had in my cart when a person accidentally bumped into me causing me to accidentally click delete all items….and POOF the entire shopping list gone with NO WAY to get it back. Like others I had the old version on my old phone but since I upgraded the phone the old version wouldn’t work on the new phone, I was frustrated because I had so many items on my grocery list I was not looking forward to putting in items information again, but I took my lumps and figured there was no other way….I LOVED the simplicity of the old version of the app and there was no way to delete all items on the list ONLY the checked off items of the list.

The writers have pretty much abandoned this app, it seems. The last update actually made organizing your lists more fragmented. Now, it randomly “turns off” the iCloud connection (despite still indicating it’s connected in the settings). Once you go back in, turn it off and on again, it changes and/or adds to your custom categories. It was really useful and user friendly at one point but it’s becoming more trouble than it’s worth. Since there hasn’t been an update in years, I’m guessing the owners have moved on.

Recently, this app has developed a problem syncing to the cloud. One day it’ll be fine and I will have my list to shop for, the next day it’ll all be gone and indicates it’s not synced to the cloud. I’ll be deleting and trying a new app.

Like the first review, I got a new phone and all of a sudden I couldn't use this app anymore. Apparently they have revamped it and I don't like it at all because there's ads I don't want ads popping up and I don't want to pay to have them to not pop up. I'm sure I will get used to the app but it's not as smooth as the other app there's too many steps. I'm very unhappy right now.
