For more than just weightlifting and traditional gym
I love this app! It has all the movements you need to be able to log your workout, and if your movement isn’t on the list then you just add it.
It keep me accountable!
Things that would make this app perfect:
1. When you add a new movement, you should be able to pick if it’s a XX sec hold or XX repetitions as a lot of core and gymnastic is holds
2. It should save your old workout in a list which should be searchable so that you can use old workouts on days where you haven’t had time to plan or need inspiration:
Ex search
AMRAP, For Time etc
Movements ex today I want something with ring push ups and dips
3. I’m working with a personal trainer and it would be amazing if he could send my daily workout to my calendar instead of sending me an email which I then log in the app
TERRIBLE
THIS IS A TERRIBLE GYM JOURNAL APP.
So far, so good
I literally just downloaded this app this afternoon. I have been searching for an app to allow me to enter my own powerlifting programming and my CrossFit workouts, track progress PR’s, etc. so far Gym Journal seems to fit the bill. I would like to see an option to export the journal, and a little more editing capability on workouts that have already been planned. Once you plan the workout, there is no going back to make an edit, or at least I haven’t discovered it yet. I’m gonna hit the gym in the am, and we shall see how simple the logging process is. Stay tuned…..
Very good...suggestions
Since switching from Android to iOS, I’ve been looking for a workout log/tracker. I used Fitnotes on Android and it was great. Gym Journal is the closest thing I have found. The one suggestion that I have so far is, being able to choose the custom workouts for various days or being able to copy previous workout and paste to new day. I use a series of workouts for various days of the week and would like to be able to choose the workouts that I’ve created versus recreating every workout every day.
Update: I found out how to access and add previously created custom workouts!
1. Go to the day you want to log the workout
2. “Add Workout”
3. In the upper left hand corner, there is a box/file icon, choose it
, It displays your entire workout history
4. Pick from any of the workouts you have either created/used and the app will add it to your daily log, fantastic!
Pros:
Create custom workouts
Label custom workouts
Reps/weight tracking
Calendar/Day tracking
Cons:
None
So close!...
The app is fairly straightforward and has an impressive amount categorized and popular lifts! You can even track cardio fairly easily! However there is some tediousness when it comes to planning my own workouts. I have a couple of workouts that are the same each week and I only increase the weights per rep but as of right now I cannot figure out how to schedule recurring workouts... this feature would be extremely helpful as I don’t have a trainer linked to my account or setting my workouts. Typing the same workouts every week with 5+ exercises with 4-5 sets each is not a valuable use of my time :/ excited to see future updates however this doesn’t quite meet the mark for me yet.
Ok
Very glitchy at times . It has my name wrong in my profile and when I click “edit profile” to make the change then save its still incorrect. Not the end of the world but it’s annoying I can’t even fix my own profile name
Good but not enought
I a great app but you should do an update
Has potential
I’ve been looking for a good journal to track my progress. This seems to be the best for creating workouts, but right now the biggest issue is setting the time of the workouts. If I want to go back and add a workout I don’t seem to have the ability to set the workout to the correct time. Opening the the tab to adjust displays nothing, and if you repeat opening the tab the app crashes. As I said, it has potential.
Need help
How do I delete my account?
I rushed through set up and my name is misspelled and I want to correct it.
I can’t do it in edit profile, nor can I delete it and restart a new one.
Needs a place to make changes inside the app.
Doesn’t work
It always closes. This app is completely useless and is not a real gym journal.
