Harry's LapTimer Grand Prix

Looks all great and dandy. But the app has major difficulties finding and accessing you media files on your phone or remotely on your GoPro. If you use your phone there is a workaround that might work by rebooting your phone. But it doesn’t always work. For this price I would suspect better. Posted a question on their forum but the mod has yet to approve it after weeks. So app, mediocre are best. Support just downright bad. Waste of money.

Great app if you’re serious about timekeeping during your personal race-events or track-days. Functionality of GP version is vast yet complex & buggy in my experience, i.e. when it comes to having this app interface in a stable manner with both my 20Hz VBoxSport GPS and OBDLink WiFi dongle. Could be my iPhone6 hardware too hard pressed to compute and manage so much connectivity and data at once when recording? Anyway, after some fruitless attempts to log via Harry’s GP app, I went back to stand alone GoPro and VBox recording and integration of my content in post. Besides I find the: - look and feel of this app is somewhat dated/ boyish. - functionality too complex non-intuitive, especially if you try to use external 3rd party devices. Too bad. Great cost-effective potential though... if it works.

This is the most money I’ve ever spent for an app to be such crap it doesn’t function anything like how it was described. I spent an entire track day trying to calibrate it and wasted more time than it’s worth. It told me I did a 45 min lap time around COTA for one of my sessions. Just junk. The developers should be ashamed at the steaming pile they’ve wasted their college degrees creating.

This app is great, comprehensive and analytical. I wanted to use it to insert telemetry into a video and it is NOT intuitive nor remotely easy as RaceChrono Pro and it was difficult! I probably won’t be using.

You can’t really beat it for the price. Lots of data for that price. Know that it’s not as accurate until you purchase an external gps. Even with that, it’s still going to be cheaper than a dedicated gps lap timer. My current set up is an old iPhone, xgps160 and Harry’s . Some folks mentioned it’s counterintuitive. If you can’t figure out how to use it, maybe riding on a race track isn’t for you.you push like 3 buttons to start logging laps. Maybe more if you haven’t loaded your track yet. So yeah, saying it’s counterintuitive isn’t a true statement imho.

Harry’s Forum don’t work. Can’t login, can’t register, can’t contact an administrator! Therefore updated info is hard to get. Harry has not updated the app to use the most recent GOPro 9’s. It is impossible to know if a $400 purchase will work unless we try. No thanks Harry, keep it, we will move on to more responsive application developers.

Never works, out of 10 track days this thing worked twice. Waste of Money very complicated

I have been using this app for almost two years now. It takes some time to set it up and learn to use it but after that it does everything. Now it looks like the app hasn't been updated in a long time and the video import doesn't work well anymore. I tried to do the usual, but the app can't show the video properly and finally crashes. I have iOS 13.3.1. Apple might have changed something in iOS that makes the app not work well. Update to the app is definitely needed.
