The testing component of the app is implemented through Health Connect Jamaica’s I’m Ready program which provides FREE HIV self-test kits either through delivery to any location or collected in-person from pick-up locations across Jamaica. The Health Connect Jamaica team of Peer Navigators and Case Managers are also available through the app! They provide live, virtual support using chat, audio or video, either before, during or after testing! Detailed instructions, information and videos guide the process through the app for an engaging experience and increases knowledge and awareness. You can access all of the support provided in the app whether you order a self-test kit, or you already have a kit. Switching to the Treatment program virtual visit for HIV Treatment of PrEP from our network of over 100 doctors and counsellors for everyone registered with Health Connect Jamaica! This telehealth platform includes appointments by chat, audio, or video. You can request appointments from your healthcare provider, or they can set appointments with you. All appointments must be confirmed by both you and your provider. The Health Connect Jamaica team of Case Managers are also available to you through the app for support with your Treatment or PrEP. Your privacy is extremely important. The Health Connect Jamaica Virtual app has 6 privacy features to protect you:
1. Lock access to the app: a PIN code or biometric data is required to access the app
2. Your name is never collected and for self-test kit deliveries we generate a random name to provide to the delivery service keeping you anonymous, but making sure you receive your kit delivery
3. Blockchain technology; we use method called "self sovereign identity on the blockchain" which means we do not store any personal information about users but simply assign a random ID number to associate things like year of birth, sex at birth, test results and appointments. Your identity is completely anonymous yet verified in order for us to provide you services such as: Free HIV self-testing kits, answer surveys and connect with someone on a telehealth appointment anonymously
4. No screenshots: Taking a screenshot in the app is not possible, so your data is always protected
5. Conversations never stored: All video, audio and in app chats are real time and never stored so your conversations remain secure and protected
6. Delete your information: At any point in time, you can go to the app menu and tap "remove data from this device" and all test results, appointments and profile info, stored on the device, will be deleted and cannot be restored.
