I have used a ton of herb apps as it’s easier to take a phone out into the field then all my books. I have found some apps being very useful but, this app is utterly disappointing. The information in this app is incomplete and seems extremely biased, if I knew nothing about herbs this app would definitely steer me away from using them… unless that is the goal… I would not recommend this app to anyone.
I am a PA in dermatology great resource
I love this resource because it is searchable
and has the science we currently understand about biological resources.
Not loading
This ap is blank and appears to be loading but never can. I have an iPhone SE 2022 model and the most updated OS, I don’t think it’s compatible with newer phones.
Woefully incomplete
This app looks at herbal medicine only through the lens of the allopathic model. Every herb basically has the same woefully incomplete write up and the same caveat that high quality studies are lacking for every herb. Hmm probably because there is no money in studying a whole plant, all we’re interested in here in America is extracting ingredients and making drugs from them that we can then sell at a massive markup. Hard pass on this app.
Disappointed
It’s a good app except for one drawback…the list of herbs is woefully short. It doesn’t even scratch the surface of what is out there.
I may revisit in a few months to see if the listings have expanded considerably.
Recommend!
I’ve tried them all, like this the best.
Useless
This app provides next to no information about herbs. Not sure what the point of putting time and energy into this unless the point was to deter people AWAY from herbs. There is so much information that could be included, but instead just blanket statements on each herb write up. Just terrible.
It’s good, but...
The overall design and functionality of the app is very good, no crashing. But there are aren’t a lot of herbs included, just basic ones.
Is this app making use of all scientific data?
For just about every herb included in the app it says, “There’s not enough evidence to show whether (insert herb name) is helpful for most of the purposes for which people use it.” I suggest the app developers look more closely at available and reliable scientific studies.
Wonderful app idea!
Really appreciate finding all this information in a free app. Only gave it 4 stars after a quick look around, but I’m looking forward to digging into the information to be found here!
