Hindsight - Time Tracker

If I add occurrences on watch app they are wiped out and overritten by last phone entry. They do not coordinate and synchronise properly. Last entry on watch - 4hrs ago last entry on phone 19 hrs ago. If I open the app on phone the last entry in both reverts to 19 hrs ago ie watch data is lost. Makes the app useless.

An ingenious little app - I sincerely hope the developer(s) will keep it updated.

This is a great app. It does it’s job very well without unnecessary additional complications.

I really love this app. So useful for logging those little things that you usually forget to and it helpfully tells you how long it has been since you did. Keep up the good works and thanks for such a useful app. 👍😁

This is a good app but the Apple Watch complication would be more useful if it could display a days since / to a chosen event on the face of the watch.

I use this app to record when I take my medication and with a less than reliable memory find this indispensable. It may not be the use the developer had in mind but one I’ve found works well!

Version 2.2.1 : Hallelujah! I came to say ‘looking forward to it...’ and found update already available. And it works! Rest assured your hard work is appreciated. Will update as necessary. I’m back! I think... I loved this app...then an ‘update’ duplicated all my events and it became a small nightmare so did not use for over a year, even after recent updates. Now with search I saw a way out and lo-and-behold it worked and helped me, eventually, sort things out by deleting all duplicates. Now the problem is my Apple Watch still won’t sync. I tried turning both devices on/off with no luck so deleted/reinstalled the Watch App but now it’s empty! I like using the Watch wherever possible as it keeps me off the phone so this is still frustrating! Any advice? Original review: Only just discovered this app but I'm looking forward to the insights that may come from tracking my habits in Hindsight. Hope the major update is still coming.

Nice intuitive user interface, does the job very well.

What would be ideal is if the app allows creation of repeating events, allows you to set a frequency of each one, but records the actual frequency for reporting purposes. The tasks that are due to be done in say the next week, would be at the top of the list when viewed. The same list of tasks view would also show how many days it was since you last did that task. In fact without the frequency being defined, as soon as you did the task a second time, it would then know the frequency in order to float the task to the top of the list and remind you you need to do it again at the appropriate time - that would be even better and definitely worth 5 stars!!

Everyone has been in that position of forgetting how long it's been since a particular event. When did I last take some painkillers? When did I last see my mother? When was the car last serviced? Hindsight allows you to record these events and shows you the amount of time that's passed since the last occurrence of that event. This has proven immensely helpful to me. The most recent aspect that it helped me with was administering eye drops. I had to use them four times a day and I'd always forget how many times I'd used them and when. Hindsight allowed me to easily see when I'd used the eye drops and how long it had been between each occurrence. This leads me to the other thing Hindsight really helps with; frequency of events. Hindsight also allows you to determine how often an event occurs and what interval patterns become apparent, such as the longest interval and the average interval. This helps you find habits you may not have even realised you were performing. For example; How frequently do I buy barista coffee? How often do I eat pizza? Do I drink too much alcohol during the weekends? The main thing that makes Hindsight so useful is the Apple Watch app. It allows you to view existing events and the time since the last occurrence, as well as being able to add new occurrences to those existing events. However, what makes the Watch app particularly useful is the ability to add new events on the Watch using voice dictation. I've used this function several times and it is definitely the most useful aspect of Hindsight for me. (UPDATE: the app now takes advantage of said features, so now it’s even better!) The app description states that a watchOS 3 and iOS 10 compatible version is in the works. This would be most welcome since Hindsight currently doesn't take advantage of things like the Watch Dock and 3D Touch. However, even without these functions, this is still a 5-star app. I highly recommend this app!
