Hiragana Quest

Hiragana Quest’s system of creating stories in your head and then practicing the stokes is a effective method to memorize the titular Japanese alphabet. If I would improve it, I would have set times/reminders to practice hiragana and recall past characters during the game as spaced repetition is important for remembering words.

I was not about to work with this app because there is no sound to learn with. This is the third app i have tried that has no sound all my other apps work just fine with sound so i know its not my phone.

omg its so fun and like actually helps me REMEMBER the japanese bc like its easy to just learn it but then you just forget… THEY LITERALLY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE THESE PICTOGRAPHS AND SHORTCUTS TO REMMEBER ITS AWESOMEE ⁉️💖😭

This is a fantastic app and teaches really well and it’s well worth the money you pay for it! However I wish there was a feature that turns off the English letters during testing so you can associate the sound to the kana

Got to the 8th section of hiragana and ran into a glitch where I can’t proceed any further. Had a great time with it til this point. Please fix!

Good design but only includes half of the total characters.

Used this app to learn ひらがな and カタカナ. I enjoyed every minute of it.

personally i love this app, but there is something im disappointed about. it really helps me learn a lot since i’d like to learn Japanese, but it only teaches you the first 7 characters. and i know some people can pay for it, but i don’t have the money to. it’s a great app but it just teaches you 7 characters until you have to pay for the rest. im pretty sure it would be worth it to buy the rest though, i just can’t afford it which is unfortunate it’s not free but i see why.

Im learning more just by using this app everyday tbh imma get the hang of hiragana and katakana soon and after that imma just study kanji with sum books not a bad app💯

This app is by far THE BEST tool to learning Kana for absolute beginners looking to learning Japanese - It incorporates a brilliant system of using a combination of fun little stories and writing repetition to help you memorize each of the Kana characters in small chunks. You can also test yourself along the way to see how much you retain with each session. I’ve tried using so many other apps to help me memorize the whole Kana writing system with no success, yet this app helped me learn it in less than a month… And that’s just because work keeps me busy. But for anyone with more time, I guarantee you could learn it in a shorter time. Of course, this is just a first step in one’s journey to learning Japanese, and there’s a lot more that goes into learning this beautiful language. But it’s a very important foundation to have and this app helps you get it under your belt in no time. To the creators of this app, I would love you to make one for Kanji, pitch accent, particles, and grammar. I would download it in a heartbeat and keep progressing. Thank you so so much!
