Hiragana Sensei

I really like this app it has been instrumental in me making great progress in learning hirigana. I have only one complaint in that it has a tendency to crash quite frequently.

I spent years trying to learn Japanese but I couldn’t understand anything.So when I first tried this app I was so mad at myself for not finding it earlier. I learnt everything so fast because it was simple, fun and just amazing in general.

I think the app is so cute! I wish each lesson would focus on one letter or sound and have more lessons because sometimes I’m trying to memorize but o can’t because it keeps switching to the next. I also would like the penguin to explain what I did wrong because every time I get something wrong I have to guess to get it right. I’m not a full beginner but I’m not fluent either and I agree with the other reviews that they think this is more for review and not to start from scratch and learn. This game teaches me better than Duolingo! Anyways it’s a great game and I love it.

This app is cute and seems very helpful but as someone who is just starting to learn with no sound to correlate to the characters it is difficult to use as a learning material. The app says there is sound but there is none.

Had a very good time practicing my hiragana with this app. I do have a couple of complaints. 1. If the word on the board is too long, it will run off the board making the text hard to read. Fix: re-size the text or board 2. You have to write in romangi (English characters). I think it would be really cool if the game had a mode where you translate romangi to hiragana. 3. If you get something wrong the penguin character just says you got it wrong. People who are newer to hiragana will struggle more if they don't know whats wrong with the text they wrote. Fix: a simple graphic that indicates where the player messed up This app is a great supplement to learning hiragana. It has a cute penguin.

It’s a great little app and it’s very simple to use. Only problem is it tells me turn up the volume and I have my volume all the way up and I still can’t hear nothing.

I gave it 4 stars because it’s free and fun but there are not lessons so it’s like impossible cause you can’t memorize it it’s hard to learn. A new language
