I won’t start with the need for an app to use basic features that should be available on the appliance. The app seems designed more to promote other products than to control the appliance. For example I have to wade through three screens just to start the dishwasher - where’s the “quick start” button? Indeed it has an “easy access” menu on the home page but no way to add actual useful quick buttons - but I can get easy access to “shop”. The home page itself is cluttered with non-operational links - ie things that may be useful but aren’t an immediate need. Bosch needs to get an app designer to rework this and put the most used/needed features for operating the appliance on the home page. Otherwise it’s just a product website called an app.

This app is a disappointment. I could go on all day about different annoying issues but I will just pick a few of the most annoying ones. My dishwasher 800 series has a setting in the app to notify me when I need to add rinse aid. It's definitely turned on, but I have never received a notification when it needs refilling. I have had to add jet dry twice when I observed water spots all over my glassware and I saw that the jet dry dispenser was bone dry. The dishwasher panel also did not notify me. I have had Bosch dishwashers for years. My other ones always notified me on the panel. The app also has two choices for each notification type, so when I turned off the in app program complete notification center option, and just keep push turned on, the notification stops working completely and I don't get the push notifications. I had to turn both in app and push on and get both types of notifications for push to work. I don't need two notifications. I only want push. So stupid. The refrigerator also has issues. You cannot choose how much time should elapse before you get a notification that the fridge or freezer door has been open for an extended period of time. Every single time I open my fridge to add groceries or move something from the freezer up to the fridge or to just get a few items that I need, I get a useless notification that my fridge door or freezer door or both doors have been open for an extended period of time. I have no idea what their idea of an extended period of time is, but it's definitely too sensitive. It seems that the developers have never actually used a refrigerator before because it takes a little time to load things or remove things or shuffle things. Give the user the ability to choose how much time should elapse. Common sense is needed when developing an app!! TESTING is also needed. It definitely needs some fixing.

App struggles to reliably connect with dishwasher. Have to open and close the app twice before it connects to dishwasher. Runs slowly, doesn’t reliably show status of dishwasher or supplies. Sad

I have two $2000+ appliances that require Home Connect. The app constantly logs me out and removes my appliances from my account. I have to re-add the appliances whenever I want to use the app. And now it doesn’t even let me log in. It keeps glitching.

Connecting appliances to the app is a cluster. When you scan it can’t find the appliance. Complete vaporware. Great idea but the implementation is so weak that it should be taken down until they address the implementation process

We have a Thermador double oven (that we love) and I find the app very difficult to use. There doesn’t appear to be a clear vision for intended use. When you launch it, you are presented so many options that you spend a huge amount of time trying to figure out what to do. Here are some examples: - Remote start requires you to set a setting at the oven before leaving the house. The app appears to suggest that you don’t need to do that, but I spent 15 minutes with it and cannot figure out what they want me to do make it happen. - Remote starting is really cumbersome. The app requires you to select oven setting (roast, bake, etc), temp, length of time, start time, and end time. Most times, I just want to turn my oven on. For comparison , when I’m standing at the oven there are two settings (oven setting and temp). When I’m using the app, there are 5. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but the interface is so cumbersome that I fight through it every time I use it. - The opening page for the app includes way too many options. I have to filter out a bunch of information to get to the point that I can start the oven (I thought about listing what’s on that page, but realistically, it’s too much to put here). All of it gets in the way. I just want a button that says “Turn Oven On”. - The App provides a set of four quick actions: Status (doesn’t appear to do anything), Lights (the only time I want to use the lights, I’ll be standing at the oven…I don’t need a button in the app), Childproof Lock (if I have children that I want to lock the oven for, I’m probably not using the remote features to start the oven), and “Alarm” (I don’t know what that button does). I’d like a button to turn the oven on. That’s the quick action I want to take when remotely using my oven. - The app occasionally sends me notifications to remind me to use it. This isn’t a big deal, but it’s odd. It appears that maybe they want me to use the app to control my oven instead of the physical buttons. It’s not clear to me why I would use the app unless I’m doing it remotely and that’s a rare case for our family right now. I don’t need reminded to use it…I’ll use it when I need it. - The menu item to turn the oven on is more than halfway down the screen. It gets very low priority. It’s called “Control”, and it’s right next to the menu items for the User Manual, customer service, and 3 other settings. This adds to the frustration and seriously impacts usability. Remote start never worked

You should be able to use sign up with Apple for account setup for privacy and ease of use. There is no privacy policy so I assume my email and usage data will be sold to whoever.

I hate this app. Not intuitive, way more difficult than it needs to be. It doesn’t show the status of current cycle. Can’t start and stop wash from the app. $1000 Bosch dishwasher and I wish I had bought a perfectly functional $500 version.

Can't connect. Instructions seem incorrect
