Hover - measure, design, quote

I downloaded this app based on my insurance provider request. It’s garbage. This app may work for new builds but it’s useless for urban areas with mature trees around the house and/or close proximity to neighboring houses. The examples in the app are simply unrealistic, no trees and no nearby buildings making it easy to take clean side and corner shots from a distance. I submitted the first set of photos and they said the model failed, no clear corner photos, which I understand since I have mature trees around the house. But I spent a lot of time taking detailed measurements on every side of the house, every width, depth, height, all clearly marked on photos via the measuring app. The model failed again… no good corner shots. But I gave them detailed measurements!!! If they have any questions they could’ve emailed me but they didn’t even try. I wasted my time.

The app would work with a few glitches (cannot change garage and doors but all the siding/stone/trim/roof/etc was fantastic) then the app would be the a different, terrible version like the online (hover.to) one that I can only change doors (with little options) but not really anything else. My edits do not carry over between the two changing versions. When a new model was made with some architectural changes to the original, it had a sliding door for the front door where it was clearly a solid door with sidelights that worked in previous model. No way to change it or the “service doors”. It’s just too inconsistent to spend time on only to lose the work. I wish I could go back to the app version that was functional but it seems gone for good? When the app it worked, I could see the potential in this to be a valuable tool for clients to communicate their vision to contractors and vice versa. Too bad it stopped working

I have been using this technology for 7 years now. I used it with 2 previous companies, and when I started my own a little over 2 years ago, I knew that I would continue using them. They have LITERALLY never failed on measurements or creating a 3-D model for us. It is actually less expensive than Eagleview, which honestly is a joke. I recently had a property that was so covered in shrubs and unwanted trees that I figured I finally had them. At first they were not able to create a complete 3-D, and I had to go back and add some photos. I honestly did not believe that they would successfully complete this. The next day there it was a complete 3-D and all of the measurements. If you are an exterior home improvement contractor and you are not using this app, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. Thank you Hover for helping me run my business.

This is not AI, these are Architectural students that are not being paid what they are worth. Again this is not AI this is a company extorting people!

I’ve tried working with this program. It crashes after just 5 or 6 modifications to my siding design. I’d do better with colored pencils.

I downloaded this app on my iPhone 15 and my wife downloaded it on her 12. Hers has extra features/ beta etc. that mine doesn’t. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it twice. I love it on her phone just don’t know why it won’t work on mine?

The app wouldn’t let me create an account then said my email was already used. Couldn’t reset my password. Used my computer and still couldn’t reset my password. Had to use my computer to create an account. The app has been trying to log me in for over 10 minutes now and I’m stuck on the spinning wheel. I have force closed the app and have tried multiple times. What a horrible backend and app design this company has.

The purpose of this app is to provide measurements of structure roofs. Mainly used by roofers and insurance adjusters. - as an adjuster and roofer; when I am doing inspections I usually have a point and shoot camera a notepad and a tool belt. It is not common to have both hands free. When using this app the operations are not possible to operate with 1 hand. Also, when you have to take multiple photos of an elevation to capture the full structure it pulls you out of the section so you have to wait then click back on that selection. It’s a pain. The firm I work for requires that I use it. Otherwise I would use other companies that don’t require a bunch of unnecessary photos.

I work for a large insurance company and I hate that we transitioned to this application. This application doesn’t work as advertised. Too many failed reports with no instructions as to what is missing to complete the report. Their customer service is subpar, and is no help. In Catastrophe events, this application merely slows you down.

This app is terrible, if your house is in a wooded area and/or you have vines and/or your house is a story and a half, hover cannot calculate the square footage of your house. Furthermore, hover does not instruct you what to do if it cannot calculate the square footage of your home. Terrible terrible terrible! Oh, and and all the negative nicknames are taken, wonder why?
