HP 12C Financial Calculator

This is a great app and a pleasure to use, but there is a bug in the program function. I tried to report it via support, but wasn’t able to. If you want to put a pause into a program with key press g PSE you do get a pause, but out of sequence. It works ok on the physical calculator, so it’s not my mistake. My simple program was to calculate VAT on a net amount, pause to show the tax, then show the gross total. The pause came at the start, not after the tax calculation. These are my program lines: ENTER ENTER RCL1 (The tax multiplier) x g PSE + SST I still have my 28 year old physical HP12C, with the original manual. The app is just as useful and user friendly subject to this one bug I’ve noticed. It works well on my iPhone 11 Pro and my iPad Pro both running iOS 13.

Take extra care before you buy this app, as it may not work on your iphone if it has IOS 11. I just today (29/03/2018) bought the HP 12c app for iphone. It should be the current version of the app, which I understand has been updated to the 64 bit configuration needed for IOS 11. The link to buy it went through to the Apple App Store. I bought the app through the Apple App Store. But, the app doesn’t work. All I get is a simple calculator. No financial functions. I only bought it to get the financial functions. This situation therefore resembles one of false and misleading advertising, as the product sold is not fit for purpose. If it doesn’t work on IOS 11, it should not be sold as compatible with iphones. At the least, there should be a clear warning that it does not work on IOS 11. There was no clear warning. I am still trying to get a solution for this from HP. Wish me luck!

I just bought the 12C app via Apple and all I get is a simple arithmetic calculator. I can’t see any of the financial functions I expected. The screen doesn’t rotate and I think I have just been swindled in the name of a Company I used to have great respect for. There is no obvious way to find the functions I bought it for. PS I only gave it a single star because I couldn’t submit with zero!

I cannot fault this app. The juxtaposition of 1981 technology perfectly reproduced on an iPhone for 12c die-hards is a joy to behold. The clicks that others complain about is nonsense: it lets you know you have pressed a key, and an iPhone has a volume control - use it! We'll done HP!

This works just like the real thing so is really handy when you need a quick calculation and your 12C is in your desk!

This is too annoying to use at work until there is the option to turn off!

This is only a very simple childish calculator that has no financial programmes at all. I bought it for GBP12.50 and it is not worth 1.50! I wonder if someone mace a mistake somewhere as this is unlike HP!

Calculator is great. But the key clicks are intrusively loud. HP - please make them more subtle, like those in Apple's own calculator app.

This calculator always worked perfectly, but recently, it lost the ability to flip into landscape that showed the financial functions.
