HSBC Expat

This app is too basic for a premier product from the worlds biggest bank (or close). You can’t pause the cards, view the pin, apply to products or even view statements in the app. All you can do is see the extortionate bank fees for doing just about anything. Expat HSBC is not the way forwards.

Telephone banking is limited when travelling. The difficulty lies in memorising the telephone banking number. There needs to be an alternative access method for non sensitive enquiries. Martin Walker

I am premier customer and I needed to get an up to date statement for my account. For that I have to reach out to customer care and then even after waiting for 2 days for 2 times every time an “empty”statement is generated. This bank doesn’t care at all about its customers.

Unintuitive and no logical processes to carry out simple tasks Account data is “hidden” and requires you to remember the downward swipe to reveal the account data - why not just provide a link 🤔 In order to generate a security code to access online banking (website NOT App) you have to log out of the App to get to the login screen to access the generate security code link - not very helpful if you are in the middle of a chat session which is then closed when you log out Whoever designed this app had no idea of banking workflows or standard banking processes and had created one of the most awkward banking Apps that I have ever used - even the Chat Agents find it difficult to use and don’t know how to access certain data eg. I was told the only way to access an account IBAN is via online banking (website) - however the IBAN is found [hidden] within the App 😝😝😝 This App is NOT for the technically challenged client - you have been warned ☠️☠️☠️☠️

Locked out of my account and nobody can help me. This company has so much money and the app and call centre service is appalling

I set up an online transfer from my HSBC Premier Expat account, based in Jersey to another bank based in Jersey. They charged me a fee took my money instantly and then told me that it takes 3 working days to pay the other account holder. How’s that for bad and inefficient customer service? Other banks are doing better than this.

Easy to use and simple but secure

The old transfer system was a lot more easier to use than the present one. Especially the Payees listing which doesn’t show the account number like the previous system.

A very long time HSBC Expat client but global payments sent on the App. are constantly going missing and take a long time to credit when they do mostly so cannot recommend that function on the app. at all. Pay the GBP4 fee on a PC instead and get it same day mostly to where it is going. Have also been very disappointed with HSBC’s service standards (getting back to me, in fact they don’t, you have to continuously call, long wait times on their call line and logged in chat service etc etc) and general evasive response to it all. Usual story I guess that everything is fine until you actually have a problem these days! Anyway maybe I have just been unlucky but I think time for a change of bank to be sure as trust level now zero. Also yet to work out what my relationship manager actually does or why I even have one!
