The app claims to work with anything the microphone hears, but as soon as I launch the app, my music app (Spotify) pauses. This feature may well work with external sources, but is useless for listening to sound coming off the same device.
I love this app and everything about it. Could we get support so that I can keep Bluetooth speakers connected while visualizing??? That change would be beyond perfect.
My old visual effects system (a laptop with Winamp), broke down and I needed something quick. It turns out that this visualizer not only responds to microphone input, but also allows you to manipulate the visuals in real time with just your fingers! Great job on this, and well worth the money!
The app is beautiful, mesmerizing and amazing. I used to own the lite version of this app and it was so great. When I had the chance of getting credit for iTunes, this was the first app I downloaded. One thing though. I downloaded the app for iPhone, because I previously owned an iPod touch. Know own an iPad mini and went to download this app, but when it boots up, it glitches and does not work. Please fix this so I can use this app, but other than that, it is a truly amazing.
I haven't really tried out any other visualizes, except for the one on Xbox 360, but this app trips me out and it's fun. It doesn't really match up to your music, but if you get good with it you can make it work with your music or anything that has sound.
I set this up with a projector while my buddies psychedelic rock band jammed. The features are endlessly awesome, and you can morph the designs incredibly. The only issue I had was with the touch controls, they consistently crashed the program. I wouldn't call this a necessary feature, there are so many possibilities I never wanted the touch. The fractal patterns, spheres, rotating madness, it' s almost too awesome. I had it running non-stop for five hours, no problems unless the touch feature was in use. The real time controls are so reactive, I really don't even know how to describe this awesomeness. I have no AV experience, so this is an amateur evaluation, but everyone was blown away by this thing. It takes some time to get a handle on all the feature, I would say I've just started figuring it out after five hours, but the images that are built in are an amazing tool for starting out. If I wasn't an Apple fanboy before this app, it would make me one. This app takes full advantage of the the iPads capabilities. Get it, you won't be sorry.
This thing ain't bad
A lot of people seem skeptical as to whether or not tgis is an actual visualizer. It is! For proof go to Options>Color/Microphone Options>Visualize sounds. This visualizes its sounds. I am unsure whether or not it visualizes the sounds (Slightly or if at all) without doing this.
It seems to only pick up sound from the microphone. How can it not internally interact with the music? It's waaaay over-complicated and becomes a mess after a few clicks of the options. The only value I see in this app is if you are totally high and need something to look at.
