Ice Cubes for Mastodon

After testing several different iOS apps for Mastodon, this one ended up being my favourite one. Very user-friendly interface with plenty of possibilities to customize it. Most importantly, it’s very fast and responsive. It still keeps crashing every now and then, but the developer seems to be dedicated to improve the performance of the app continously. 5/5

The fediverse is awesome, but it’s distinct features have been confusing for the masses looking for an alternative to Twitter. With no lack of a center, people have been puzzled on how to easily follow different servers, but one doesn’t have to use a web browser or register on multiple instances to do so. Many fediverse advocates don’t like quote, but let’s face it; it makes surfacing your source content much easier! I for one welcome my new favourite Mastodon client! 5/5

Awesome mastodon app with many colour options and slick ui/ux. And it is even FOSS this one deserves more users.

Well made, the best I've found so far.

I love Ice Cubes but a couple of bugs are driving me crazy. I like to keep boosts off to declutter my home timeline, but if I do that the app will only load a few posts until I go to another timeline and then back to home. Sometimes I have to do that twice to get it to load. Also I’ve gotten some crashes on posting or replying to a post lately.

The interface is great, I like that but the problem with posting I’m not sure why it’s not working. But other apps work just fine.

One of the main reasons for me choosing IceCubes was to browse local timelines other than on my own instance. As of about a week ago the app has no longer been saving my scrolling position on these timelines and instead I am sent to the most recent post. Timelines on my home server are still working correctly. I posted a query on IceCubes’ own Mastodon instance but I didn’t receive any help there. I’m using 1.10.42 on iOS 17.5.1, and I believe no settings were changed within the app. I will update my rating if this issue gets addressed.

Title says it all. It crashes. Not a lot, but more than enough to uninstall it.

Easily recommendable, best client for Mastodon bar none. It’s got all the best beeps and boops for interactions, beautiful color scheming, and it’s extremely efficient. The community is very interesting in that nearly everyone is mentally ill in some way or other, which is pretty awesome if you’re also mentally compromised like most of us on the internet. If you think you’re not just give it time, you’ll get there. And when you do, the friendly community at Mastodon will be there, or on X, or Facebook or whatever poison you’re using. We’re all screwed, really. But this app is pretty awesome. The dev posts bangers on Mastodon btw, give him a follow.
