What happened to the Spotify support???

Rune Yoga on

The reason I bought this was for its ability to chop samples from Spotify.. Not only is this ability extremely limited (it selects a random 30 seconds form a song you pick, and for some reason you can only access a few of your randomly selected playlists) but now when I go into my Spotify to select songs none of them actually show up or work!! Please fix this as this is why I bought the app! Also when I was able to chop samples out there is no way to auto fade the ends of the samples. So they either clip extremely, or I have to manually go and fade out each tiny little sample I assign to all 64 pads... This is really not what I expected from this app. Very disappointed.. Please rectify all this and I will change my rating..

Just not for me

I really wanted to like this, and wanted it to be better than the old iMPC. I’ve worked with Korg Gadget, and just wanted an extension to this with more intuitive sampling looping and beat making. I don’t want to use any of the included packs just sample my own stuff. I was continually deleting slice points etc and just generally lost in the interface, just couldn’t get my head around what to do how to build up kits etc. The real time effects seem good, but I just can’t be bothered getting my material in to the program to use them. Unfortunately deleted on day one.

Normally, I contact the developer who makes the apps and I tell them that there is a bug, crash, or something is going wrong during a certain part of using their app. Most of the time I get a response asking me for more info, how this happened, etc… I will say usually it’s the smaller people who care more about their apps, but I can’t be that general because there are a lot of really good companies who get back with me and they are very behind their apps. So, let’s talk about the developer of this app. I sent seven or eight emails over the last seven years regarding imports of samples crashing on their “scratch vinyl” sample import part of this app, which I assume would get used quite a bit. I’ve never received an email. I’ve never received a response to a review. Like I said, I don’t leave reviews unless I have contacted a company many times and they do not respond to me. I am disgusted that I literally emailed this company multiple times before their update last year and even right after their update asking them why they never fixed the issue. No response. No form letter that might have coddled me. not even a response that takes 30 seconds to do via Apple App Store. I haven’t used this app in years and I’m still sickened that I paid $15.99 for it. Yes, that’s dirt cheap nowadays, but this app has literally done nothing for me. Had apps that I’ve paid $1.99 for that have done more in my studio than this app has done in my pocket. You should be ashamed of yourself and I will never promote/purchase/speak of to friends any of your apps in the future. I’m not saying I even matter-I’m no one, but if some other person reads this and feels the same way and decides to never buy another product from you again -then I’ve done my job. Thanks for no responses to well over 10 emails in seven years. This app is a joke and you guys fix TABLETOP before this?? Why make a separate app for iPhone if you’re not going to support it? it’s just a money grab and they do not care about the iPhone version.

I just love how I had to buy the original, then the second version, then the original for the iPad, and then the second version for the iPad. Fortunately, this is when apps were cheap. This is also when apps were actually updated. I literally own at least $1100 worth of audio apps. I bet a test at least five different audio apps a month and I have been since 2011. The only thing I can say positive about retro is that they did start AudioCopy, which was pre-AudioShare, but instead of building on it, they made it their template for selling beats. Even that I don’t care about. Goodness knows I’ve bought some of their bases and other things so I can’t slag them. However, this app is just the worst. Normally, I contact the developer who makes the apps and I tell them that there is a bug, crash. or something is going wrong during a certain part of using their app. Most of the time I get a response asking me for more info, how this happened, etc… I will say usually it’s the smaller people who care more about their apps, but I can’t be that general because there are a lot of really good companies who get back with me and they are very behind their apps. It is a little in depth which is fine. As for producing on the impc2 editing midi note is kind of a nightmare… I come from ableton live. I wish they would implement moving midi notes around like they do in “note” (another app made by ableton) I have t figured out how to link the two yet. I haven’t been able to produce a single drum loop on this app and I’ve had it for 2 days now. Maybe it’s on my part?

I’m an avid Akai MPC One user, using it as my main writing and performing tool so I was really stoked to use the iPhone app for sketching out ideas and building simple projects to import into my MPC One later on, unfortunately this app crashes a lot and also suffers from weird audio dropouts which I haven’t been able to figure out. Hopefully this app will get an update in the future because based on what I’ve used of it, it’s fast, fun and easy to put ideas together.

Have you guys ever thought about making this into MPC Beats free version and add iap to it? Would make a lot of sense especially with how powerful IPads are becoming.
