inspectAR PCB Tools

The idea is great, and the minimum functionality works rather well, at least if there are no tall components, that may distress the PCB plane detection. Why do I need to create an account to try it out?? For hobbyists it would be great to have a free custom board upload, maybe limited by number of tracks or components... there’s no point in inspecting finished boards. Also for this use case a subscription is not ideal. The interface is not intuitive, but it’s acceptable for what seems to be an app with great potential, but not quite there yet!

WAY too much info is being requested. Street address, phone number, etc is not needed. Granted the text fields don’t validate the data so you can put in fake info. Also the app crashes when attempting to take pictures for calibration. Made multiple attempts, but I could not get past this step. This was on an iPhone XR running iOS 15.

Why do you need my full address, name, phone number for a PCB analyzing app? This is so sketchy do not download this or give them this info, you can’t use the app until this info is provided. If you get rid of this requirement I’ll rate this appropriately it looks like a cool app, but that’s not cool

why is so much information needed before even getting the opportunity to test it?

I love this idea so much! I just recently downloaded it and tested it on my Arduino Mega. I see so much potential with the usability of this product. It’s not perfect, but with a little messing around it’s not too hard to figure out. I haven’t tried using my own designs yet, but I’m excited to try it. I really hope they continue to work on this because I see so much potential with this product!

I hope the business model works out as the tool is very useful and you get a lot on just the free plan
