Panned a trip from toronto to montreal. Got to where i was supposed to charge but ALL 4 CCS chargers were out of order (app didnt even say that). Now i’m stranded in the middle of nowhere and forced to charge at a 7kw charger.
VERY UNRELIABLE
Poor app security
I used it once and couple months later it leaked my credit card info. Then it got comprised and there is an unknown charge in the middle of nowhere.
App makes the smart charger dumb
The home charging portion of the app that is made for their version of the ‘Grizzl-e’-made smart charger has little if any ‘smart’ features; making it kinda ‘dumb’. No graphics, no real time power transfer readings,… It has also provided inaccurate historical charging data. Some major upgrades are needed.
Terrible App
The order of chargers makes no sense. I live in Windsor and this is giving me a near charger in Trenton! No way to search for a favourite or a map with the charger locations on it. Don’t like it, but if you want to travel the 401, I guess we are stuck with it.
Horrible.
Yet to have a positive experience with this company. The charging cables are too short for many EVs. The app never works properly. Won’t login.. no server… doesn’t send a code…each time there has been a total waste of time. Of all the companies out there IVY is definitely the worst.
Decent but not perfect first experience
I used ivy for the first time yesterday because two flo stations in a row didn’t work.
First issue is that I downloaded the original ivy app about a year ago (without using it) and there was no indication that they had replaced it with a new app - just a bunch of weird errors like maps not loading or being unable to create an account. They should have made a final update to the old app then when launched would tell people they needed to download the new one and to subsequently delete the old app.
Once I did download the app, setting up my account was generally OK but I would ask the developer to consider allowing applepay so we don’t have to fidget with entering card information. To ivy’s credit, I’m glad they don’t operate using a balance like flo does; they simply use your payment info to charge your credit card directly for each session.
The app otherwise performs reasonably well.
Very poor support.
Called for one week and no level 2 phone support. Just generic emails that don’t help.
Very frustrating, absolutely no help from Ivy support. Following all the instructions but charger will not connect to the network.
Home charger setup fails even though wifi connects
When setting up the home ivy charger, the app suggests an issue even though the wifi is connected and won’t let you continue. A way to add the already wifi connected device is needed. And a way to reset the wifi without using a hex key not included is needed.
2 hours of multiple tries and resets all resulted in inability to add a charger to the application.
Yes a special 2.4 GHz connection was created just for this charger.
iPhone 12 Pro Max was used for setup.
Worked well for us
Charged our Subaru Solterra at Mallorytown ONroute IVY-0159. Four charging stations. Didn’t have the RFID card so used the code. 40.1kWh in 48 mins. One other EV charging for part of the time. Liked the display on charging station. Easy to read, logical interface. $17.80. Slight premium but hey, it’s the 401!
