Horrible App
This app is not user friendly at all. Never updated and fairly useless with my unit. What a disappointment for a Jensen product.

What a shame this is what comes in the little guy mini max. Buggy overpriced junk!
Jensen could care less about this app, it’s an absolute joke. It’s like a bunch a middle schoolers learned to code and released an app, except I wouldn’t bash middle schoolers because they would have done a better job. Just delete this and fumble through the buttons on the head unit, both are trash but at least you won’t waste you time twice.
Utter garbage this head don’t work nothing works can’t get TV to play you can’t get auxiliary inputs to work optical inputs to work coaxial cables to work. The only thing that works is FM or a.m. radio assuming that you’re close enough to pick up a signal DVD player doesn’t work basically no audio except FM and a.m. and the app does not work with iPhone so you spend tens of thousands of dollars on an RV and this is installed is an absolute waste of money space and utter garbage
The fact that Jensen continues to exist and that large manufacturing companies like Winnebago continue to use them in their factory installs is shameful. There’s not a single positive thing to say about either their hardware or software offerings. Both are incredibly archaic from a tech standpoint and their core design goal seems to be to frustrate the end user to the point where they want to go absolutely ‘Office Space’ on said equipment. Please let this company go the way of the (much more admirable) Dodo bird soon and another company that actually cares about quality and usability fill the void asap.
I like the app well enough, as far as controlling the radio from my phone goes, but even when the radio is Off, and I don’t have the jControl app running, it pesters me every thirty minutes or so with the message “jControl App would like to connect to your Jensen radio” or words to that effect. Even when I click on “Ignore”, it just keeps sending me this message. It is annoying to the point of being infuriating, and the next thing in my day is to uninstall the jControl app. My advice: skip it!!
Like the radio its an overcomplicated mess, terminology that makes no sense to a user and setup/operating instructions that were a joke but somehow got incorporated, the engineers are still laughing that corporate released it. App is rarely updated and when it is consumer complaints aren’t addressed. The app and the radio are both dinosaurs from the 1990’s but survive because there isn’t any real competitors in the RV segment unlike the automotive segment. Bluetooth itself is just a one way connection, your phone to the radio, radio won’t transmit to your headphones, you’ll need a bluetooth adapter for that task. The radio model doesn’t really matter, the improvements are cosmetic at best, they change the size and move the buttons around but the basic technology never changes.
Just bought radio March 2023 and have been unable to connect the Bluetooth. Gets all the way to pairing sending a code to my phone and nope doesn’t connect. These idiots need to fix this issue.
Have used the app for the past year and it’s always been hit or miss with getting connected to the Jensen audio system. Now it absolutely will not connect with Bluetooth to my iPhone 13. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it, removed the iPhone from the stereo Bluetooth known devices, powered everything off and on numerous times. I see that the app hasn’t been updated in 2 years and the link for support doesn’t work either.
I have never reviewed an app before. This was so bad and disappointing that I felt I had to. The JWM72A head unit itself is fine apart from the fact that it doesn’t have Bluetooth. I know it says it does but I have tried connecting through 2 iPhones, 1 MacBook, 2 android phones and a windows PC in any convoluted sequence and it simply does not work. I can’t believe I wasted 2 hours screwing with this thing. If you need Bluetooth and are purchasing an RV, you will need to account for replacing this thing right off the bat.
