I can open and close the vents ‘manually’ through the app but none of the automation works, they don’t even respond to a simple schedule. Support doesn’t respond.

It’s been months since my vents are down. Support can’t fix it. A while ago , every week or month I needed to reset vents , reinstall app, reconnect with ecobee and start over, but at least was working. It looks like I wasted over a thousand dollars. Need to look for alternatives.

I can’t believe that after a couple of years we still do not have notifications when the batteries are low of when the connection with the thermostat is down. Without this I cannot rely on it and must open the app every day and check each vent one by one to see if the battery is empty. There is only battery full and battery empty... No percentages!!!! So it’s a gamble. When it works it works well enough. I would not recommend!

Considering the number of features this app deals with it’s a great overall interface. The vents themselves are amazingly built. Overall the system logic of when and how often to open and close vents does need some reviewing. Great product support, just very few software updates and almost no new feature intros. Works well for both small and large systems.

I have used the system for many months. Most of the time it worked great, with only an occasional glitch where it would close one vent when it should be opened. About a week ago the iPhone app stopped working, and without the app there isn’t an easy method to report a problem. I have had to take the batteries out of all of the units and control the vents manually. So now I am stuck with expensive manual vents.

Having spend hundreds on vents, this app is a huge disappointment. Bugs: the percentage open indicator is inconsistent in different parts of the app. The schedule function just stops working sometimes. And these issues happen all the time. I’ve had this app for several weeks and the buggs have been fixed with updates. Poor design: when you set the schedule, you can only choose from large blocks of preset times, and the vents can only be set fully open or fully closed during those periods.

They obviously rushed their products and app out the door. Where to begin? The app is buggy. It disconnects from Ecobee constantly, requiring reauth, it doesn't show the accurate vent open or closed state, takes minutes to update when you make a change (so unless you’re standing next to the vent, you don’t know if it worked), help docs are incomplete and/or unhelpful and their “support” team takes days to reply. This isn’t some game or small appliance that can be put aside until fixed, these are your HVAC vents and responsible for air in your home. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from Keen until they can show they’ve fixed their issues or are bought by someone reputable. I have 9 vents, two repeaters and have requested a full refund.

The app is okay but the whole system is over hyped. There is nothing smart about the system and the user has to access to room temperature. The vent relies only on the user input.

Support messages returned and can’t log back into app or reset authentication. Vents stuck open. Was good, now replaced with a different solution.
