Having installed watchman Sonic Advanced I cannot even get the app to work and i am unable to register my new Watchman is there a person who can help solve this problem?

Sensit dongle shows red fault LED when it’s not faulty !! Only records one tank level reading per 24hrs !! Level measurement resolution is 5% … so the app display jumps in 5% blocks !! None of this information is publicised in the product advertising or manuals !! Disingenuous in my view !!

Not as easy to install as it suggests and took numerous attempts to set up an account. Requires a lot of information we don’t have about the fuel tank. Not working after a period of time so likely to send the usb receiver back and just stick to the watchman gauge.

Update 28th September 2024 This is still the most pointless bit of kit for accuracy I have ever owned. After owning for 3 years STILL the tank volume doesn’t show the correct capacity. For goodness sake sort this mess out, you have had long enough. Update September 2024. My god what a useless bit of kit this is. iPad doesn’t load anymore, so given up with that mode of checking. For goodness sake, just get the thing working! Update March 2022 Yes you are correct I have been in touch with Kingspan, and after a lot of talks etc., I was told I had installed the sender incorrectly! However, after Kingspan sending a replacement unit out, all has worked for the past 3 months. Funny really as I was told I had installed incorrectly!! By the way, the app does have glitches, and the current one is rotating dots in the centre of the screen, and does not open the app. Works most of the time, but again today failed. Update Dec 2021 - Your reply is incorrect, and I have now tested after power loss. I can assure you if a power cut happens the transmitter and receiver has to be paired manually, they will NOT pair automatically all of the time. The pairing does happen some of the time, but again this is not guaranteed. This is the trouble with Kingspan, their own communication doesn’t work, so how can the product work f you don’t know what it does? I have used this system for about a year now, but the unreliability is very disappointing. One big issue, the sensor fails if a power cut, and you have to pair every time. Fantastic idea who ever thought of that one! The system is for remote monitoring of your oil level, which is pretty pointless if a power cut happens and system fails. You then have to get back to the property to pair again, very handy if you are miles away like we are, as used in a holiday home. The latest app update has created another problem, where the oil level has dropped from 84% in the tank to 45% overnight. Now what do I do, travel to see who has stolen my oil overnight, or Kingspan to sort the app problem out? Biggest job me, the sudden drop in oil has not sent an alarm like it should. For the cost of this system, I would expect far better. A cheaper and far more reliable method is a wooden stick dipped in the tank, failing that just guess, as you may have a better result!

I used to get weekly emails advising the oil level in the tank. This stopped about six weeks ago and I’ve been unable to set it up again as being an error ‘unable to update settings’. Please get this sorted. Also, according to my supplier who also monitors the oil levels, the app is reading about 10% lower than it is, why is this?

I am so fed up with this app erasing my account . This happens every 3-4 weeks and I have to go through the tiresome process of reloading my tank information and a new password etc. There is also something in this app which prevents the password being stored in the iphone’s password memory so if I am thrown out of the app and write my email address in the user name again, my password doesnt come up. You need to do better Kingspan as this app is in danger of becoming a waste of time and irrelevant.

Hi guys, App appears to be good and has a good home dashboard. One thing that is missing is an email to alert when you are low. It would be good to set you own value, say 10%, to which we get an email when the tank only has 10% left. Also another feature that would be useful is to share with another user, for example my wife could have her own login to view the tank which I approved to share with her.

We’ve been using the application for just over a year and has been working great. In particular the average daily consumption and predicted empty are particularly useful. -What’s missing most for me is the ability to download historical data to a csv file or similar. -Linked to the above it would be used to compare consumption over multiple years not only 12 months.

I used to use the Oilpal app which has since closed down. The Kingspan app works as a basic tank monitoring system. However, I do miss the function from Oilpal where it would warn you when your tank level reaches a certain percentage of your choosing. The Kingspan app only has the option to email you (or send a push notification) on the same day every week, not very smart. Also, the UI is non-standard for iOS and has slightly odd text/form entry, not a fatal issue but slightly weird. The support link on the App Store also leads to a 404 on the web site.

After an update a while ago, the app keeps crashing when visiting the usage history tab. This was a very useful tab and helped predict when more fuel would be required. I’ve tried uninstalling a number of times, unfortunately non of the updates see to have fixed this problem either. Hopefully this can be resolved in a future update.
