Concept of the App is great. But a few bugs are losing my confidence in the App: 1. Occasionally (~40%) the workflow stops after the wake up alarm. 2. The take a picture function has never worked. 3. The feedback function doesn’t work - pressing the “Yes I’d like to give feedback” button does nothing. 4. The alarm doesn’t work if your phone is on silent. I don’t like leaving my phone off silent overnight. But with Kiwake I need to. 5. About 50% of the time tapping on the lock screen push notification doesn’t take you into the App. But the sound is still on and getting louder. This is extremely frustrating as I’m trying to turn the sound off as quickly as possible so as not to wake my wife. But the App seemed to have crashed/disappeared WHILST the sound is still playing! This results in a frantic dash to look through pages of Apps to find Kiwake, launch it and hit the “next” button.
Recently this bug keeps happening: When the alarm goes off and I open the app, the alarm just stops. No three steps, no panic mode. It just stops. This cannot happen! It makes the app useless. Feedback feature in the app doesn‘t work either, so I am posting this here.
This app is by far the best way for me to wake up. Prior to the app, the snooze button was my best friend. Not anymore. Kiwake does not have a snooze function,I am required to get out of bed and take a photo of a pre-selected item in another room. Once out of bed and going through the three step process, I’m ready for the day. Okay, I may not be ready for the day, but I’m up and out of bed which is a feat. I’m able to select the song used as the alarm from my iTunes library. I recommend this app to anyone who has difficulty getting out of bed.
I’ve been using Kiwake for 4 years, but it is just too inconsistent now. Most of the time, the app doesn’t alarm with sound (even with sound turned up on my iPhone and the app open in the foreground before I go to sleep). Sometimes it will alarm silently on my Apple Watch, but sometimes it just simply never goes off. This morning, it alarmed silently on my Apple Watch, I unlocked my iPhone (where Kiwake was already open) and it was not alarming on my iPhone. 30 minutes later, the loud, annoying “you better wake up” noise, but with zero steps for me to complete to turn it off. Every time I open the app again, the alarm turns off, but when I transition to another app, it starts alarming again. The take a picture of something when you wake up is so buggy that I stopped using that function years ago and have just been using the brain games and motivational phrases, but now, even those aren’t working well. I wish you would have fixed these issues! This app used to be great!
12 a year for alarm clock ? Why?
I was wondering how to get my money back. The alarm doesn’t make a sound or even run me through the steps. All it does is make a very faint pulse vibration. I’m glad I set a back up with the regular iPhone alarm or I would have been in trouble but seriously, how can I get my money back that I paid for this subscription ?
The feature of having to get out of bed and take a picture is the o blue thing that finally helped me wake up. Thank you for making this free app.
Works pretty good
This app helps me get up. No more snoozing and taking a half hour to wake up. There are some bugs and quirks with this app but overall it has helped me a lot.
