Hot garbage

This app is a joke, always disconnects almost impossible to connect whenever you’re setting it up. The user interface is from 2001. I just listened to a podcast with their senior engineer talking about how they were going to release a new app at the end of 2024 here it is 2025 no app, it hasn’t been updated in over a year.

Still quite unreliable

GiacintoLongIsland on

Vereinigte Staaten

The app has improved slightly in the past years, but its overall quality and functionality is still significantly below an acceptable standard. Set and schedule functions are glitchy and unreliable: you never know if a new setting will be accepted or not. Worst: recently we went to vacation, and whenever we set the temperature to a low temperature with ‘permanent hold’, it will only keep it there for a few days and then randomly go back to the scheduled temperature, which is extremely annoying and energy intensive. Our setup: we use kumo cloud with 2 mhk2 thermostats, with schedule through the mhk2. Overall: our p-series centrally ducted heat pump has been working great for 4 years, but the software is really bad. Even the modulation algorithm could be a lot better. Time for Mitsubishi to finally invest more into software???

Can’t program anymore

Doesn’t let you program rooms to set on a timer, when you click on a room nothing happens

Cannot figure how it works

One heat pump two indoor units. Not sure why settings revert. The use or remote and kuma cloud is confusing. If you shut off the device the remote will not turn it on you have to use the app. How hard will be for the app to tell you what each unit is doing? What is these random temp ranges? If it is following the schedule i should see these temps. The simplicity and functionality of a nest thermostat app is amazing compared to this app. Hopefully i can figure it out but a few hours into this it is getting frustrating. I looked at the online manual but it is limited and not detailed enough. Nov 2024: an email arrived an overhaul and a new app. Hopefully because this one is totally disfuctional.

A trash app

Always has been. Can’t stay connected to the network. Holds my personal record for most force-quit resets to try and reconnect

Garbage app

Loses connectivity to wifi randomly then can’t find the network it was connected to. Programming is extremely timely and tedious. Trying to fix or troubleshoot anything on your own is difficult. Hopefully the upgrade will fix things but for now I can’t even connect my kumo cloud units to wifi. 100% do not recommend.

Too many connection issues.

If you’re looking into this app you probably already bought the kumo cloud device. I wish I could have warned you earlier. That device is such a waste of money, I should have listened to the hvac service guy and skipped installing it. I love the mistsubishi heat pump but I miss my ecobee so much. Kumo is not production ready. There are just too many connection issues and app procedure to reconnect most frequent than not will simply not work.

Good Stuff

Overall a great experience with this app. The only fault I had was setting my schedule for dual setpoint. The schedule would push into cool mode no matter the temperature, then switch back to heat when the time came. I would Like some more logic involved but honestly, could just set it to auto. Overall a great app! Very happy and recommended!

More temp notifications

Would love to see notifications with more frequent temperature intervals

Needs updated - poor experience

chrisdevine on

Vereinigte Staaten

This app is very hard to use. The buttons are very hard to select and that makes it nearly impossible to adjust the program feature. That experience itself is less than intuitive. This application doesn’t come close to other smart thermostats on the market. It could really use a refresh considering the price of the systems it controls.
