About the Landesmuseum:
Three buildings--one museum. In the heart of Oldenburg lie the Palace, the Augusteum and the Prinzenpalais; together, they form the State Museum of Art and Cultural History. With overall holdings of well over 30,000 paintings, works on paper, objects from the fields of cultural history and arts and crafts, it is one of the most wide-ranging museums in Northern Germany. Whether visitors opt to slip back in time to the period of Oldenburg's Grand Dukes at the palace, enjoy Baroque paintings at the Old Masters Gallery at the Augusteum, or view works of Classical Modernism at the New Masters Gallery at the Prinzenpalais: with its wealth of subjects, a diverse information programme and changing special exhibitions, the Landesmuseum is just waiting to be discovered.
