Learn My Part

I use this to practise my clarinet part for the folk band I play in. I upload the midi files to my iCloud Drive and then load them to LMP. I can then play individual instruments or just my instrument or highlight it (play it louder than any other instrument) or play everything together. All in all an excellent practise tool.

Haven’t used this extensively yet, but looks like a really useful aid for learning choral parts. It’s simple to use and I like the ability to easily switch the emphasis given to the different vocal lines. Originally, I said that loading files from email attachments or via web page is rather clunky and it would be nice if midi and pdf files could be loaded directly from Dropbox or similar, or via the new Files app in iOS. It turns out you can do this! Load files to Dropbox and then just use the export option to send them to LMP - should have read earlier reviews! It would be good if files for a single work could be grouped into a directory. I do notice the developer hasn’t updated the App for a while, perhaps he is no longer actively working on it, but it would be handy to mention Dropbox loading in the instructions. No one uses iTunes for this anymore.

Enables me to be thoroughly ready for choir practices. I am a nervous sight reader when I say “nervous”, I mean “rubbish”)but I can learn by practising and by listening and this is perfect. I love how you can choose a particular section and repeat only that, plus the ability to challenge yourself when you have learnt your part is great. I recommend this to everybody I know who sings.

Great app. Simple to use and a great boon for "up a bit, down a bit" sight readers like me. Don't understand why one reviewer gives one star for the limited number of included midi files. Importing new files is very simple.

Are you working in an ios8 update as app has stopped working and am having to use other midi apps

Absolutely brilliant app. As a new member of a choir with basically no sight reading skills, this app has enabled me to "Learn My Part" and as long as I can find a midi file on the web it will continue to be an invaluable tool for me and many other members of our group. Get it now!

The app is very limited and doesn't make it clear that these are the only choral works on the app. Very disappointed.

I was close to dropping out of my current choir because my rusty sight-reading wasn't up to the expected standard. Then I discovered Learn My Part - what a brilliant little app! It has made the difference between quitting and staying in and really boosted my confidence. I'm also amazed that so much material is available and this app makes it all work so easily - I'm so grateful! One tiny suggestion - it would be good to be able to organise tunes into albums/folders, or even just change the list order, but it's still great anyway. I shall be using it a lot. Thanks.

just so easy to use and perfect for getting the melody of your part learnt sibelius midi files go straight in so all music is accessible this way. the customer support is excellent too, there were some minor glitches but these are now solved. I have found so many midi files on the net that can be downloaded to LMP keep up the good work
