Reading Tracker, Planner: Leio

I don’t normally leave reviews for apps, but this one disappointed me so much. I got this app in January of this year, as I wanted to read more & keep track of my reading sessions. Online this was recommended as a good tracking app, and so I downloaded it & instantly loved it. I used it a lot Jan-March and again in July when I got back into reading again. However, this September the app got a huge overhaul and I’m sad to say it’s completely changed. You can no longer edit reading sessions, nothing seems to be in any order on the homescreen so you 100% books are at the top with books you’re still reading dotted in the middle. Even if you add in the total pages & finish reading all pages, it’ll sit at 100% without being “finished” & the book covers are no longer visible which was the main visual appeal of the app. I did email the developer when these changes were made, as some features were also broken. I’m not sure if these were fixed, because I just didn’t enjoy using the app anymore. So disappointed as I paid for a year of use, just to end up not using it anymore. This is one case of the changes not working unfortunately, maybe in the future things will be overhauled again. But for now I’ve found an alternative app.

Please, this is one of my favourite apps, could you please fix the flow after I click “Done” button when I finish reading. Now, the screen keeps getting stuck on the “date; first page read; last page read; duration” there is not button to complete the action and I can’t go back to the home page.

This app is perfect for taking notes whilst reading and provides a fantastic way to review the old books that you’ve read.

Simple to use and helps to visualise progress and keeps you motivated. A great way to log books you’ve read and plan to read.

Love this app. I use this and love that it links to goodreads. It is so user friendly and has good stats. If this had an Apple Watch app it would be even better if that’s possible.

I love how this app helps me keep track of the books I am reading as well as those I have read. It's also nice that you have all your notes about a book in the same place, even time-stamped with the day you read them. It has a "quote" feature, where you can take a picture of the page, crop it and it will turn it into a text note. Another great benefit is that you immediately know where to start reading from, as you enter the last page when you close the app. There is an annoying bug you close the app (as in go to mission control and swipe the app away) while a session is in progress, you will lose the session and all notes and quotes you entered. This is silly and extremely frustrating when it happens. Should be an easy fix. Other improvements: - it would be nice if there could be a way to enter books you have read before downloading the app. At the moment, you can enter a book, and manually record a session in which you read the whole book, but this will skew the statistics - sometimes, when I open the Plan calendar view, it jiggles like mad. I don't know what this is.

Leio has totally transformed my reading life. I downloaded it at the start of 2021 after having been stuck on the same book for two years. Since then I have read 15 books this year, which might not seem like a lot but it’s something I am very proud of. I love this app and would really recommend. One thing I would love to see is an improvement of my favourite feature. The statistics part of the app allows me to compare my reading times with the previous day/month. However I would love to be able to scroll back along the graph to view previous weeks, and to be able to see the values each point on the graph denotes. (E.g, to be able to see I read for ten hours in January)

It’s pretty much brilliant except you can only read one book at a time if you don’t have pro.

This is a great app for tracking reading. I just wish there was an Apple Watch app, as it seems the perfect companion. Too often I pick up the phone to start/stop timer and get distracted looking at other things. Having it on your wrist would prevent this, and be motivating too.

Would like this app to be more user friendly for low vision users if it could work with Apple’s dynamic font that would be a big help. It does work with VoieOver screen reader - kind iff. Not the best experience for a visually impaired bookworm but decent for sighted readers as an alternative to Goodreads.
