I cannot recommend this app enough
This is the single most psychologically HEALTHY app that in no way tries to push people into ED and is taking ACTIVE EFFORT to prevent people from falling into toxic and destructive eating habits. I think what would make it even healthier is adding a *bottom* calorie intake and making it so that the day is coloured as red and a fail if you don't eat enough as well. As a person surrounded by anorexia survivors who has to count calories for medical reasons, I cannot overstate how powerful it was to see an app that isn't trying to make you insane. If you overstep your daily limit in Lifesum by even 60 calories IT STILL COUNTS THE DAY AS A SUCCESS, because obviously 60 kcal doesn't make much difference. Not to mention how amazing it is that the included calorie burning calculator includes activities such as vaccuming. Cleaning windows. It's so, so, so goddamn important that it still allows people to count their actual effort and not force them to take a time out of their day to do workouts, especially that not everyone can afford the equippment or gym and many people are already busy and tired from housework or manual labour that obviously also burned the calories off. The label scanning is also a good feature, unfortunately I'm from Poland and hence not in the database. I also cannot overstate how goddamn important it is that before you sign up for one of the nutrition plans [which are FREE btw, you only have to pay if you want a personalised one], there is a red warning sign with a message saying: "This plan provides suggestions of recipes of about 1600 calories per day. These recipes are only suggestions and should not be seen as individual recommendations. However, we strongly recommend that you eat according to your individual energy needs, so if your recommendation is above 1600 calories, you'll need to increase your daily food intake." THIS MESSAGE IS JUST- "IF YOU NEED MORE EAT MORE!!!" YES! EXACTLY! LOUDER! And not to mention that Every Single Plan has a link to all the sources used to construct every one of them, which include US Departament of Health and Human Service, Journal of Internal Medicine, American Heart association etc. This is an absolute masterclass in creating a healthy app that also has enough free features that it's not unusable without paying for premium and can still help you and perform its purpose. The premium just gives you optional insight and personalisation, as it should. Honestly these are the kind of app developers I don't
